Seriously is this doctor not any good at all.. my mom had a big mass on her chest on the mammagram film and she wen to see doctor monk and she saaid shes clean and come back in 6 months..so should we get a 3rd opinion????

I was supposed to get my gall bladder out, and she cut me open just to tell me she couldnt get it out, although it is supposed to be her area of expertise. Initially i told my family dr. i wanted to go to UAB HOSPITAL, and he insisted i go to Dr. Monk, all just to have to be referred to UAB in the end anyway. Dr. Monk had me waiting for months before she could even see me the 1st time. I would definately not reccomend anyone to go to her.

I went to Dr. Monk with some problems I had been having only to have her be extremely rude to me and act like I was stupid. She misdiagnosed me, by saying I was just fat and to get over it. She didn't even run any tests. I almost gave up trying to find out what was causing me so much pain, but went to another doctor. Thank goodness I did. He found a LARGE cyst and sent me immediately to an oncologist. I had surgery that week to remove it. Dr. Monk was so rude to me that I almost gave up. It could have cost me my life. Nobody deserves to be treated the way she treated me. I am thankful for Dr. Hugh Baily and Dr. Kelly for saving my life. If Dr. Monk would have just did a few SIMPLE tests, she would have found the cyst. She was leaving to go on vacation the next day, so I think she was just in a hurry that day. She needs to learn compassion and how to shut up and listen to her patients.
