First of all, was told it would be in person, and then it turned out to be a zoom appointment. Then, when I explained that I still wanted my son’s primary to be very involved, he became very defensive and combative. When I asked for gene testing to help narrow down which meds would work and know which ones won’t; the doctor said he refuses to use gene testing because all it does is give us an idea which drugs might work, and then it tells us which ones won’t. In his opinion it’s better to just pick ones he thinks will work on my little 6 year old’s brain who is on his third med switch in the last 6 months. Tell me how that makes sense. Why not at least eliminate the ones that won’t work. He tried to give my son meds for anerexia, and my son has a huge appetite, he just likes to try and have his favorite food for every meal. His weight is perfect! He didn’t even have a real conversation with my son, and this was our first appointment with him.
