At two-plus years out from surgery now, I regret the day I decided to have surgery with Dr. Gunson. Sometimes things go wrong, but it’s what you do next that matters. I thought I was in good hands, but just realized I was not. In addition to advancing only my lower jaw 14mm according to his records, leaving my maxilla retruded, I am left with: (1) an edge to edge class 3 bite; (2) severe and permanent nerve damage; (3)chronic swelling in my jaw from a lump from his bone paste and an abscess from where he punctured by tooth roots and a jaw infection; (5) he torqued my mandible during to the right (6) he used experimental dental prep and crowns placed on my teeth three days before surgery and the way he operated left me with no natural movement of my lower jaw; and (7) holding me in a traumatic bite has caused severe reabsorption of my the bone in my mandible, and my condyles have deteriorated now from this surgery. He put me though 8 attempts of restorative dentistry costing me over $100,000 with no luck to restore my bite and function. They have flared out upper crowns so it can look normal but the teeth still hit together all the time. Front teeth have chattered for two years. . Finally after challenging Dr. Gunson and recently reaching out on Facebook to other patients, Dr. Gunson terminated me as a patient. I am in the middle of significant and ongoing issues with no prospects to help me out of this mess. Finally, Dr. Gunson is not committed to patient privacy and has referenced me my case with other patients which is not acceptable. If this practice tells you they have no patients with serious ongoing dysfunction following surgery with Gunson, they are not telling you the truth. Apparently I am one of growing list of patients with problems. below are photos of what has happened to me from surgery with gunson.

Dr. Gunson has disabled by wife. She had jaw surgery with him and she was left with severed nerve damage, deformed jaw bone, and infection in her jaw stemming from surgical screws improperly placed that killed her tooth , pulp root and all. He aborted her double jaw surgery leaving only the lower jaw advanced so her front teeth on the bottom now are in front of the uppers—she is in constant pain and dysfunction. We drove 25000 miles and she flew another 33,000.00 miles in flights. We thought he was the best, but don’t believe the hype. Many of the google reviews are not legit, they include reviews from his daughter, his son in law, his business associates and even his receptionist. Get a second opinion!
