So the office is closing. No help in getting out my IUD after being a patient for 15 years. I find it unconscionable that they would leave a patient in a bind.

Unfortunately I am reading these reviews now I wish I had read them about 6 years ago. Similar to some of these other people I did not have a good experience with this dr. Same kind of situation where she had an intern put her fingers inside my body because I have a little bit of a different internal set up due to a birth defect. I also was very offended by the fact that she took the liberty of telling me that I had an anxiety disorder and that everybody I know knows that I have an anxiety disorder. I feel that I was scared into taking action on a benign condition. I was scared into believing that I might had cancer I wish I could go back in time and not have gone to this doctor. It was my fault for rushing into things and it was the worst summer of my life test after test trying to determine what was going on and then ultimately surgery which eventually put me into a surgical menopause. I should not have had to been scared into thinking this way. I should not have been told that I have an anxiety disorder when everyone is sticking objects inside me doing test. It was a very difficult situation and of course we want to survive we don't want to end up having ovarian cancer but we also don't deserve to be scared to death. It was a situation where I felt cornered scared and I wasn't getting any support at the time from anyone. I am not saying that she is not an intelligent person I'm saying that I wish I could have gone to somebody else from the very beginning and because of her I have not gone back to the doctor for many years.

Absolutely terrible Doctor. Do not go to her. Unbelievably rude and not caring for patients. No people or basic communication skills. Will make you feel uncomfortable. She put me on a new birth control without explaining it to me. Also had assistants in the room without asking me while I was naked; made me feel uncomfortable and was not necessary. She shouldn’t be a doctor with her attitude and demeanor. She should be working at the DMV.

I felt so uncomfortable during this visit. She was not kind and did not respect the fact it was my first pap smear and that i was nervous. She brought an aid in the room without asking me. Pulled my gown down without telling me/giving me warning. Gave me concerning results and did not give me explanations and was dismissive to my questions. Bad bed side manner.

Worst Bedside Manner, do not go in if you have any medical concerns or issues. She is rude, dismissive, with no compassion.
Had a mastectomy and was unable to do exam...but I showed up to talk with her about a concern and she slammed her computer shut, told me to leave and that there was no charge for visit. Was so taken back...I called the staff prior noting my condition and was encouraged to still come in. She could still bill for the visit so I am not sure what ruffled her feathers but in all my 55 years I have never been so disrespected an humiliated by any Dr. still shaking my head, but left the practice. Staff was nice. Voiced complaint to office manager which did no good, just sad a Dr. can be so uncaring.

I've been a patient off and on of Dowd Medical since 1984. Mr Dowd delivered my first and only child and his wife was his pediatrician. Back in those days care was great. Fast forward 2017. I'm gushing blood. GUSHING. My periods stopped over 5 years ago. My PCP told me to call my gyno and get in right away. I have new insurance that they don't take. (only a few weeks old) BUT IM ABLE TO USE AND BILL the old insurance for a total of 90 days!!!!! They refused to see me. 33 year relationship DOWN THE TUBES! All you ladies reading this. You know how important it is to get in right away if your gushing blood after not bleeding for years. I highly suggest finding a new gyno or you might find yourself in my position some day. Now off to find an emergency gyno. I blame this all on Fallon but your my gyno not her.

Dr. Carpentier has been my gyn for about 11 years and I absolutely love her. She is efficient with her time (meaning, she doesn't spend lots of time chatting), but she will take whatever time she needs to answer my questions and explain the pros and cons of any particular issue. Her bedside manner is caring and concerned, and you have her undivided attention when you are with her. Unfortunately, she no longer works with obstetrics, only gynecology.
