This doctor is grossly incompetent. He will not tellhis patients what is wrong with their backs. He wanted to perform surgery on my back but refused to tell me what was wrong with my back. Not a professional doctor at all. This guy should have his medical license revoked.

Dr. William F. Beringer's response
Reading through this negative comment makes me wonder about the writer's motive. 1) If you are having surgery with me your surgical procedure is described by myself on consultation using models and reviewing your MRI in front of you. Furthermore, my PA goes through the same process during the preop history and physical. So, the Idea that I am not CLEARLY and REPETITIVELY explaining what a patient's pain or weakness is coming from and how I plan to treat it is hard to believe. 2) If I am Incompetent, then why do I have one of the lowest spine surgery complication rates on ProPublica's Surgeon Scorecard website based on 5 years of Medicare data? Furthermore, since I do a lot of revision surgery (fixing people operated on by other neurosurgeons) my low complication rate is really quite good. Finally, try finding another neurosurgeon within 250 miles of me who has been in practice for 9 years and had zero malpractice.

This guy is dangerous. He wanted to surgery on my back but refused to tell me what is wrong with my back. I would not recommend this clown to anyone that has back issues.

Dr beringer is in a really big rush to do his assessment of his patients problem. His staff is not willing to keep the patient informed of their status. This doctor is really dangerous. Stay away from him.

This doctor is utterly incompetent. I read a review of his surgical procedures when he was in Tennessee. They described him as a maverick that would do un necessary procedures. That reviewer lost their family member due to this idiot. If you value your safety, find another doctor. Do not let this clown treat you. I was briefly a patient of his but fired him because of the way he and his staff withheld information regarding my condition from me. This doctor is really dangerous. Stay away from him if you value your health.

Dr B has a good bedside manner and made a good choice to send me for a steroid injection with Dr Rogers. I have followed with him twice since the steroid injection and I feel 90% better.

It is nice to have a doctor who is looking out for me and cares to do a good job. Dr B fixed my back with a tiny incision that is hardly noticeable.

My friend and I both had grade 1 spondylolisthesis fused in December. She was operated in Boise and has a 6 inch incision, bad back pain and PT appointments all week. I have two 1 inch incisions on the sides and haven't needed PT or pain pills since three weeks after surgery. Dr. Beringer's minimally invasive technique made a BIG difference in my recovery.

After 14 years of living in what I fell was the worst pain and headaches a person could stand, finally a doctor worth his credentials. I had another local doctor do surgery just two years ago for the same pain and he did a needless, extremely invasive cervical surgery that actually left me with other problems. Beringer did tests first that conclusively showed exactly what was going on in my neck and really fixed me. You see it was from a bad surgery 14 years ago that an East Coast surgeon performed. In one weeks time from the surgery I feel better than I have in 20 years. My family thanks Beringer too.
