I drive from Burlington to Thomasville to see Dr. Darr. She and her staff are excellent. It is worth my drive.

DO NOT go to this place. My boyfriend went there a week ago because he was in severe pain and needed a tooth extraction. The lady at the front desk who is "nicely rude" said it would be $100 upfront until the insurance paid. The dentist didn't even pull his tooth. They made him wait a week and gave him 8 pain pills. They said for him to take them at night. So, what is he suppose to do during the day? Obviously the Tylenol he had been taking wasn't helping. (His tooth has been broke for years). So we come back a week later, no antibiotics before or after, and the dentist ended up cutting his tongue while doing the extraction. Seriously? Then we go to check out and the lady at the front desk said it was a balance of $135. I told her we didn't have it, that we paid the $100 last week and she said " well if you knew you weren't going to have the money for this appointment you should have had your tooth extracted while you were here last week" I said "it's not our fault the dentist didn't want to pull his tooth last week" she said "yes it is" I told her we wouldn't be coming back, and I asked her for a dr. Note for work, she wouldn't give me one. She said his workplace could call her. Very unprofessional. I could understand him not having his tooth pulled at his first visit for an infected tooth, but it was fine. They just want your money. They don't care at all about your well being.

Worst experience I've ever had at a dentist. You will quickly notice how shady they are when they start tacking on fees that no other dentist would think of. They want to charge you for things your insurance will not cover in order to pad their profits. I had a fee to "explain good dental hygiene" tacked onto my standard cleaning. Also, charged me an "Obamacare fee". Wanted me to get some unnecessary major restoration that my insurance would not cover. I will not be going back. My new dentist was shocked by what they wanted to do to me.

Do not use this dentist. Other 2 reviews are from 2010, and this is a new review. Very high prices and price quote for new patient cleaning and x-rays was not honored at .checkout. Also, the new patient package I was given at checkout, offered me $25 for a new patient referral with a $60 coupon for that referred patient. As a self-paid with no insurance, $60 should have been given to me. Only after I called and complained about the over charge did they suggest they would give me $60 credit on next visit. Then, a price quote of $1600 for a crown seemed very high. But, after I chipped a tooth and called for appointment, I was told the charge would be $220 for an x-ray and a consult to see what needed to be done, and then additional charge to do the repair. You've got to be kidding!. I went and picked up my x-rays from first new patient visit, and took myself to another dentist(there are a few in the area). I.m happy to report that I found a wonderful and fair dentist. His estimate for the possible crown is $1100, and he offers the same same day service. He could not believe Dr.Darr's quote. So if you have to be careful with your money, don't go to this office.

Don't go to this dentist office they will give you false information telling me every time that I had a cleaning that I also had cavities I let them fill in three of my so called cavities then after the last cleaning she tells me that I have another cavity I started to think that she was only after my insurance money and my copay money I have been to the dentist my whole life and I had never had this many cavities within a year every six month cleaning she was telling me that I had a cavity. So I didn't let her to the last cavity filling I went to another dentist and they tell me no cavity and everything looks good

Unfortunately, Dr. Darr is not qualified or competent to perform many of the procedures she offers in her practice. After discussions with many of her "past" patients - the general consensus is...she does not need to be in dentistry. I rarely take the time to post reviews(good or bad), but if this helps one person from making the same mistake I did, then it's well worth it. I can honestly say my treatment with Dr. Darr was the worst experience I've ever had with any doctor. There are great dentists out there. Take the time to perform research first. Thanks to the on-line world, we have plenty of honest reviews available - people speaking out to help others make well informed, educated decisions. Your teeth/dental health are vital to your wellbeing. Regrettably, I failed to research & suffer the consequences daily. Not even the best dentist in the State was able to help me. The damage she caused was permanent and could not be repaired.

I will not return to this dentist. The overhead costs are so high because of her new-age machines that we as the consumer have to pay more out of pocket.
