Avoid the University of Minnesota for surgeries. You, as a working taxpayer, who are and have been paying for this University and Hospital with your hard working tax dollars for many years, may not be able to get the proper Humane Health care services you deserve if you go there. Some nurses are very abrupt on making it clear that rectal surgeries are done by same day surgery only at a surgery center and not in the Hospital and that is the way it is regardless of the horrific pain or other circumstances that goes along with it. Of course, the Doctors who do the rectal surgery are also aware of the horrible pain with rectal surgeries, but it does not concern them. They of course are set in their ways and don't care how much you may hurt, because that is just the way it is, and they will not accommodate anything to help you. Per a vibrant staff member, the rectal colon surgery is only out patient, which means you go home the same day, and yes, you will have horrible pain, and have to deal with it. No pain injections like you would get in a Hospital that would definitely help. When you are out patient, you are sent home to suffer, which is In-Humane to those suffering already, and thinking the well known hyped up University of Minnesota Physicians and Surgeons will care, but they won't, believe it. Surgery centers were made to save money for health insurance companies, yet make more money for Doctors and staff, so when they make you go home that same day knowing how bad it is with no concerns at all, most people who are sent there don't have a clue until they have their appointment and are then made aware that they are not able to be In Patient In Hospital for comfort and safety. It is just plain mean and totally wrong. Shame on the U of Mn surgeons! Make sure your family and friends know this before going to the U for any surgeries. Please Question, even if they don't like it. It could save you from unimaginable pain and misery.
