Dr. Velamati found a problem with my daughter that 7 other doctors could not find - even another gastroenterologist in another practice. She had been suffering for 3 years and after telling her the symptoms she suspected a blockage. After a colonoscopy a large pre- cancerous lesion was found. She was sent to a surgeon in another town with connected to a large medical school. After the surgery the doctor told us the lesion was in an area most gasterenterologist would miss and that even tho he has never met her that she is very skilled. He also told us our daughters lesion would be okay but if De. V had not caught it her future would have been in trouble. We know that she saved her life!

She was polite and friendly , but that is where the positive comments stop. This doctor spent less than 5 minutes with me and was relatively unconcerned by the fact I had a drastic weight drop.She also brushed off some of my other concerns. Will not go back.

Dr Velamati is great and very personable. She has really helped me get control of my symptoms and has taken the time to explain things to me and answer my questions.

Very disappointing interaction--I don't think my time with her lasted even 5 minutes. She seemed uninterested in me or my problem. I was left with the impression I was an annoyance in her day. That's also how I observed her treating her staff. Stay away from this one--there are many other fine doctors at this practice to choose from based on what discussion I heard in the waiting room from other patients.

Dr. Velamati ordered tests that no other gastroenterologist thought to do and found a problem that needed surgery. Because of her expertise I will have probably prevented a cancerous lesion. She is wonderful!
