Went in for an ablation due to painful periods. Was told I needed a hysterectomy instead. Wasn't told what type of hysterectomy partial or full. I finally asked, and was told I needed a "full". They didn't once discuss hormonal replacement with me after surgery. I brought it up and was told by Dr. Bernard, "don't worry, you'll wake up with a patch". That was it! Okay...what about side effects? How long will I need this patch? Then a couple days prior to the surgery date, her NP asked me "why do you want to die with all of your organs?". What kind of question was that??? I never had an operation, didn't have any help during or after the procedure. So after that last exchange, I went home, thought about my experience with this doctor and her staff and canceled my surgery.
