I think Dr. Bechtel is a good doctor, but the practice as a whole has some issues. Because of a mix-up in contact info, they didn't give me time to respond to a letter and cut me off of a medication that needed weaning off of. I was left to face possibly a weekend of misery until luckily the pharmacy gave me some to hold me over. When I called on Monday, they insisted I be seen that day before calling in a refill. It's not like this was a narcotic drug either. Very disappointed. This practice wants you to be seen more than once a year, even if you are perfectly healthy! They wouldn't even call in a script for pink eye over the phone, even knowing I work in a school and the school nurse had verified that's what I had.

Absolutely great guy -- knows his stuff, is spot-on with diagnoses and gets it right every time. Listens well, keeps detailed notes, never rushes through appointments. Highly recommended.

Dr. Bechtel is a great family doctor. He is a good listener and I did not feel rushed during the appointment. He is very knowledgeable and good with follow-up. His staff is friendly too.

I went to see Dr. Bechtel three times for the same problem. He was never able to solve my problem but kept billing me for a lengthly office visit. When I complained that I keep coming here with no solution and you keep billing me for a full office visit(not a reduced rate for a follow up visit),the doctor suggested to call billing and they could possibly reduce my bill. After leaving messages with the billing dept, for close to 6 weeks, finally someone called me back. I told them what the doctor suggested and they told me they would have to talk to the doctor. 2 weeks later I called to see what was going on and they told me that the doctor said he cant reduce the bill.(why would he suggest it and then say he cant?)Then I get a call from billing saying they are putting me up for collections. If you use this doctors office or are thinking of using them MAKE SURE you find out what their fees are in advance because they will overcharge you beyond belief. In my opinion, I would stay clear.
