Dr. Barte claims to only work in a team environment, meaning that she will only prescribe meds if her patient is currently seeing a therapist. However, that is untrue. She saw my husband who was suffering from depression (and paranoia thanks to the meds) & didn't bother to touch base w/his therapist before suggesting he double his dose because he so desperately needed it! If she had, she would have known that he stopped seeing his therapist a month prior. She also didn't bother following up w/him after said suggestion, knowing full well the dangers of such meds. Didn't even bother to follow up when he missed the next appt. He committed suicide & I haven't heard from her. Seven months later & I honestly believe she has no idea. She just didn't care enough to ever call to see what's up! Great care! Stay away!

This woman was the worst and I would avoid her at all cost. Even if you are desperate go somewhere else! She not only made me feel worse after seeing her she made me cry and avoided questions I had concerning medications. She was a rude, tacky person. Please avoid her even if you have to wait 2 months for another doctor. She told me we were not a good fit and told me to not slam her door on the way out. I am currently taking a medication she prescribed and now what do I do for care? Dangerous doctor!!!!

Beware-makes up amount for cash patients($100 July '09 rates). Agree with previous posting entirely. Very uncourteous, unprofessional, lacks charachteristics necessary to be a doctor. Doctor is self-impressed with her title. She lacks ability to diagnose mental diseases and corresponding treatment. Claims 30 years in practice in CA. Talks about her irresponsible adult children who sometimes act as receptionist. Would not recommend to anyone. Very callous person-called more attention to patients bounced personal checks than to personal issues. Prof.Staff are very good, not dr.
