I saw Dr. Wagenburg for scaling and planing and then I was supposed to get a gum graft after. I thought he was very rude and very rough with the novacaine needle and cleaning. Because both of those caused me pain due to his roughness, at the end of the second cleaning he suggested he prescribe a valium before my gum graft because I seem anxious and not able to tolerate dental work well. FYI - i have been having dental work, including two extensive oral surgeries, my whole 30+ years of life and I have never been an anxious person or had any fear of dentists or dental work. I was simply in PAIN because he was so rough. His bedside manner is cold, he yelled at me for having my phone in my hand when he entered the room (what else am i supposed to do when i am waiting 20 minutes??) and said to put it away they don't allow phones out there, and repeated it twice like i was a child (I'm 40). The entire experience for the deep cleaning was enough to not make me go back for the graft, no way I'd let him do a serious procedure on me.

Loves to give you implants whether you absolutely need them or not. The implant went ok. He advised recontouring my teeth, by grinding, to change my bite (instead of braces or a bite guard). This removed a lot of enamel making it rough to the touch, making food stick to teeth when chewing, totally messed up

This old goat should retire. He performed a bite adjustment (never heard of this) without explanation or treatment plan. Normally, this is something done over several appointments carefully to see the effect, he instead filed all my teeth in one super speedy 20-minute sitting. He ran a lawn mower through my entire mouth. At the end he shaved off the bottom of my front teeth without first asking me and no prior comment, he just did it. He had no consent from me to do this. A very arrogant and aggressive approach to patient care.

This procedure is today not done for those without symptoms, like me, because it causes problems. He is old fashioned. What a shock. A problem on one side caused imbalance on the other side which meant shaving off more on the other side. Back and forth multiple times. Functional and structural problems resulted.

Several dental professionals recommend braces or crowns on all teeth. I now have a very deep bite. I now have pain because my lower front teeth press on my upper teeth. Orthodontist is about $7000. And 2 years or more of pain tightening braces every 2 weeks. Who is going to pay for this? He left most all of my teeth with sand paper edges and sharper points, another periodontist said "etchings" that were not smoothed, and some seem down to below enamel. This is not all the problems I now have.

Before you have any procedure done by this man, get a second and third opinion. It may well be his perio surgery and implant work is fine. His old-fashioned ways, dismissing comments of concern by the patient, and lack of communication seem a big problem.

I had been a long time customer for more than 10 years, but just had a bad experience lately that completely turned me away. I usually have at least three teeth cleaning a year at Dr. Wagenberg's office due to a gum problem. At my last cleaning, Dr. Wagenberg suggested me to do bite adjustment. I told him clearly I would only do it if my insurance plan, Cigna, covered the cost. Later I was told by Jane, billing lady in the office, that my insurance would covers 90% because the dentist is in-network. By the way, she later admitted that it was just an oral promise from one Cigna representative and there was nothing written. So I went ahead for the procedure. However, a few weeks later, I received a letter from Cigna showing the bite adjustment is not covered due to lack of recent periodontal surgery, I would need to pay around $300 on top of $83 that I already paid. Since it was not my fault, I suggested to split the bill with the office, but Jane rejected it and threatened me to use collect agent and file a lawsuit if I don't pay the whole bill. I paid the bill to save the trouble; it is just not worthy for the legal fee. Not only I will NOT come back to this office, but also highly recommend people to stay away from it, due to its lack of professionalism and terrible customer service.

Doctor Wagenberg posesses a truly poisonous combination of a tremendous ego and lust for money that really clouds his judgement in case when he is not successful. Out of 12 implants he did for my husband, we have four failing ones, one with 90% bone gone for one of them that has to be removed now. My husband had been complaining for about one year about feeling palpitation on that side and having blood, doctor paid no attention, then after half a year he finally noticed, performed two laser surgeries to no effect, charged him for those and offered a third one at the end with a bone graft for another $2500 which would have been totally useless according to two other doctors we went to for a second opinion. Two other doctors said there was no way to salvage that implant now, but it could have been salvaged at the beginning if Doctor Wagenberg was not neglectful. Pure case of neglect, total lack of compassion and total inability to take any responsibility for his actions. Never trust this doctor !!!
