The review here from March 12, 2013 is my exact experience, word for word, with the exception of my needing crowns. I also saw Dr. Shapira for a very expensive consult and he did nothing but read from a pdf the entire time. He didn't look in my mouth, he didn't let me talk. I made a huge mistake by agreeing to pay $7000 for a neuromuscular orthotic. Biggest mistake of my life. Not only did the orthotic not help me, it made me so much WORSE despite my 100% compliance to the protocol. Then Dr. Shapira charged $395 for adjustments on TOP of the $7000. $395!! He is scattered, disorganized, and kept giving me lip service that he'd provide all these SPG nerve blocks and trigger point injections--and never did!! After several months in his "care" I am out $8000 and not one step closer to any symptom relief. The stress of the way he conducts treatment and his business have only added to my pain. I'd very surprised if there aren't hundreds of other patients who have had this same experience. I only wish more of us would come forward.

Dr. Shapira and Delany Dental Care are BY FAR the most amazing dental practice I have ever been treated in. (Aside from the office being beautiful, the staff is unbelievable and so knowledgeable. The most experienced I have ever seen). Dr. Shapira is a one in a million kind of Dr. His expertise far surpass many M.D.'s that I have seen for chronic pain and headaches. He changed my life!!!! Saying thank you does not seem like enough. I would like to say I was referred by another patient of Dr. Shapira's who feels the very same way. Dr. Shapira is the best!!!! If you are suffering and feel like you have no hope like I did- he has been practicing neuromuscular dentistry for years. I strongly encourage you to try him. Thank you Dr. Shapira, I wish there were more Dr.'s like you!

I have been seeing Dr. Shapira for years. He has treated me in all of his areas of his practiced dentistry. I have sleep apnea and TMJ and he is also my regular dentist. I have dental insurance and COULD go to an office that is IN network (I did leave and tried that at one point in time), however you cannot find the amazing service and expertise that you get at Delany Dental Care anywhere else. I would pay the small amount extra to go there. Eventhough in most cases require payment at the time of service, they file insurance for you and you get the check. They also offer a discount for anything paid for before your appointment. I don't mind doing this again because you get what you pay for and they are awesome!

Dr. Shapira is an expert in the field of sleep dentistry and neuromuscular dentistry. I not only know so much more information about my condition of sleep apnea, but I am on my way to being fully restored without a CPAP machine! I can't thank Dr. Shapira enough for his help and professionalism.

I went in for a consult with Dr Shapira, it was very costly, and I listened to him talk for about an hour. Never did he let me talk and never did he look in my mouth, so when I left he still did not know why I was there. However gave me a treatment plan, of $7000, money they wanted up front! All I needed was three crowns replaced that had worn down over the years and were causing me pain due to the height difference. Went somewhere else, got it taken care of and it did not cost me $7000. Oh and the $7000 he wanted to charge me did not include replacement of any crowns. Told me I had muscle problems and there was no cure but he would make an appliance. Felt as though he was reading from a script the whole time he was talking to me to.
