Should be named Heartless Family Practice. He was the worst physician that I ever had. Do not trust him. I can't understand all the good reviews. And he isn't even an MD-he is a DO. Check into the differences. I know other former patients who hold the same strong negative opinion about him. I feel that he is all about the money, it helps when he again has a new office. I believe that it must be his friends or family writing the good reviews. I only started going to him because the wonderful nurse practitioner I was seeing left the practice. I am disabled and he made an assumption about me, jumping to the wrong conclusion without ever discussing with me first. What good doctor does that? It was a mistake on the part of the office staff and he impulsively assumed that I his patient did wrong. He never checked it out with me, just made me take a drug screen that was perfectly fine by the way as he found my prescribed medication present and illegal substances absent-which I had additional $ owed in payment and I was self-pay at the time, and then he abruptly discontinued me as a patient of the practice leaving me abandoned by my doctor until I could find another. Making me take a costly drug screen knowing that he was discontinuing me as a patient and knowing that I had just been laid off and without insurance. Problem started because I had missed several appointments during very snowy February due to my being unable to drive the 25 miles on snow days each time I would schedule it would snow leaving me with no choice but cancellation. I have severe degenerative disc and joint disease and can't walk or drive in snowstorms. I was accused of getting my pain medication illegally because I was over a month late for my appointment-he forgot that I picked up just a prescription without an office visit during good weather when my prescription was due- or else he forgot to document in my records that he gave me that prescription. I was accused of not returning phone calls to the office when I had twice notified the office of my phone number change. I had been in communication with the office all along due to the weather cancellations. I was totally offended, being lectured to like a child rather than a consumer paying him to provide a service, and rightfully so. I never had a physician speak to me in such a condescending manner. Just who does he think he is? What did he think-that I was buying drugs off the street? He said "I don't know where you have been getting the medication, you haven't been getting it from me." Of course it was his prescription. I had the bottle with me and showed it to him. I think he has a God complex. I could go on and on.
If he is such a wonderful, compassionate person and doctor why does he also allow the ongoing problem with his office staff, and not have a handle on how his office staff treat his patients-it is happening all the time. People are humiliated and embarrassed in the waiting room all the time-used to make me very uncomfortable, and yes, again it is always about the money. You can't tell me that he is not aware of this. There's multiple reviews on multiple sites with the same complaints. I know of an old woman with heart failure who gets so sick that at one time she was in hospice care, and who fired him as her doctor due to mistreatment and being humiliated in front of the waiting room-about her bill. Also due to poorly controlled medical problems. Not once did he do any type of physical exam on me, never touched me. I was seen long enough for prescriptions to be written and that was it for my appointment.
I now have a good, competent, professional family physician, and I hope that my review spares other individuals from the types of experiences that I had in that office. Go elsewhere and be treated with dignity, go somewhere that it isn't all about the money. Go to someone affiliated with the other Lancaster hospital, not the Lancaster hospitals he works at if you want decent care. I think that it is about time that the truth be told. I have seen the real side of this man. I know that the negative reviews are few, however they do exist. Hopefully I am helping to spare others from a doctor who abandons his patients before checking out with them about what really happened. Oh, and it doesn't end there, when I said abandoned I mean abandoned. While trying to find a new doctor and transitioning I got nothing to help me until then it was as if I never existed-so spiteful and cold. I never deserved such heartless treatment for missing appointments. I always called. I was never a no show. Of course it was again about not having those visits to bill for-the almighty dollar, not the patient.
