First of all, I told them over the phone before scheduling my FIRST appointment that my daughter has horrible anxiety attacks. That is why we couldn't get it pulled in Palestine, she cannot have laughing gas. They said that the xanax will keep her relaxed enough, and that they deal with anxiety all the time. I made my first appointment, no problem They charged $1 for the first visit as a promotion. He was kind, and told Lexi that he would make sure she was wakled through each step and told her what to prepare for. The staff was incredibly rude. I had a tag on my new capris (which I forgot to remove ) and EVERY assistant/person there except the receptionist made it a point to walk by and laugh. They giggled every time I passed by and one even walked into the room and back out again, so obvious. The woman that checked us out before we left was the only kind soul there, other than the Dr. who was decent that first trip.Dr. Gerber said that she needed two teeth pulled, but only one was infected. Since the girls' insurance won't kick in until April, I told them last time I only wanted to pull the ONE infected tooth and they said that was fine, it would be $250. I got Rx and left to come back after taking antibiotics. THEN today happened. We got held up on the icy bridge in Tyler because someone got in a wreck on the bridge over the water. I called them and told them I would be late because the line wouldn't move. It was bad. So they said it was fine, they would work us in if possible. I drove all the way there and was exactly one hour late. Lexi had taken one xanax at 7 and it had worn off. I called them again when I was almost there to make SURE they would see us, they said come in. So we did. The receptionist said to take another xanax and led her directly to the chair, no wait. The dentist comes in and stuffs a topical analgesic covered gauze in her mouth. He doesn't even give us a chance to talk. He pulls a needle out and immediately sticks it in her mouth, on the wrong side!! Lexi jumps up, coverng her mouth saying, "Nuh uh!" The first xanax never fazed her, the second had been in her stomach not even 5 minutes. I told him, "We are only doing the left side." His response was, "I have orders to do both." I said, "Our insurance doesn't kick in until April and I only want to do the infected tooth today." He said, "Well I have orders for two and am doing two...but if she keeps carrying on like this we aren't doing ANYTHING today. I can't deal with this. If she can't control herself, I refuse to hold her down." I said, "The first pill wore off and she literally just took the second. I told you she has anxiety." Then he turned to Lexi and said, "I do this same procedure with four year olds, Alexis. If you can't control yourself then we are done here. I made room for you on a busy day with bad weather and you SAID last time that you would cooperate when you came in. I TOLD you what to prepare for and you are not cooperating. I have patients that NEED my help and I am going to work on them now." He turned to me, "And there will be charges today even if she doesn't get it done because you took up an appointment time." He left, nothing else. My daughter bawled for an hour- I kid you not- in the office, in the car and down the road. She kept saying, "I thought he said he would walk me through it! He jabbed that needle at me before I was even numb or the medicine had time to work! He was rude to me and acted like my anxiety was my fault! He was sooo mad at me!" He made her feel like an inconvenience and charged me $124 (half of the original service's charge) for that. He wanted to charge me half of the $500 for it, but I told the woman that I was not going to let him do both and we got out with paying $124. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. My daughter said she'd rather keep the rotting tooth. The only nice thing I can say about this office is the woman that checked us in, the assistant on the second visit and the woman who checked us out both times were extremely kind. The rest, thumbs down...wayyy wayyy down. Dr. Gerber needs to learn the difference in fear and actual medical anxiety, and be sensitive to that.

His staff was super friendly and comforting and they made me aware of everything that would happen. Also they were very gentle with me.... Dr. Gerber even called later in the day to make sure I was alright... I hate the dentist and I was very impressed. I can see him being my dentist for as long as he is around. :)

Dr. Gerber and his staff are wonderful. I had a root canal because of a cracked tooth and his services are impeccable. He even called me the night of the procedure to see how I was doing. I highly recommend Dr. Gerber. A+++
