Dr Scarpinato saved my husband's life at St Vincent's Hospital in New York City in February of 1997. Michael Ayala was in a multi trauma accident and entered the ER with a ruptured spleen, a hemorrhaging kidney and a punctured lung. There were many broken bones as well. It took 6 months for him to leave the hospital on crutches but I'm convinced he never would have survived had it not been for the brilliant and quick decision making of Dr Scarpinato on that fateful night.
