I smell fraud. Billed me 260$ for an exam. The bill states they billed my insurance company but there is no record of a claim. To add insult to injury I also have vision insurance. Barbara the bully in billing says, it is what it is.

Jason Steinfeld is dangerous to see. He did cataract surgery and then right afterwards did "glaucoma work" on each eye when I had no glaucoma. With this glaucoma work that I didn't need, he picked inside my eye and damaged tissues very badly causing "Aqueous misdirection".
He messed up my eyes so badly that I had to go to Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia to save my eye sight. I couldn't read for a year. He called me "hysterical" when I told him something was very wrong. He didn't refer me to Wills for 6 months and during this time my eyes were getting worse and worse. He caused "Malignant Glaucoma" which had to have serious surgery to correct. I had two "Vitrectomy" operations, one on each eye which is very rare to need. I paid over $1000.00 for the repairs and never got compensated by him. He is neglectful, abusive and stay away from him. He should have referred me right away to Wills Eye Hospital and did not. We wouldn't admit that he caused severe damage. Wills Eye told me that Steinfeld caused this problem. I have the medical records to show this also.

This eye doc (and office) is a major fraud in my opinion. His office workers are also very rude in dealing with patients, and a major pain in the neck, from scheduling, to dealing with insurances, etc. . After doing a series of tests (by two of their doctors) on my eyes, he diagnosed me for "definitely Cataract", and strongly recommend me to get the Cataract Surgery/Operations done immediately for both of my eyes. After hearing some bad news and feedback from people, I thought of getting a second opinion. I went to another Eye Doctor, who simply did routing tests, and was able to give my a lower (-3) prescription than even what i had even before the test (-6). The second doc recommended me the right contacts lenses, and assured me that I don't have any cataract and definitely does no need any cataract surgery at this point. I am happily seeing better with my lower prescription. I avoided a major surgery and a heavy cost and painful experience.

kept submitting claims to my medical insurance and caused $$ out of pocket. Held the exam on my vision plan so I couldn't go to another doctor for contact prescription. Wasn't willing to spend time with patient so I don't know how professional he actually is.

I went for glasses and left with a prescription for them thats all I asked for and all I left wit. I have full vision insurance for that. Then he Billed me for hundreds of $ for test my medical ins would not pay for. I don't know why or if he did any other tests which I did not ask for or was not told I was getting. When I asked for an explanation I got nothing except calls from a collection service.

Dr. Steinfeld is a very adept and caring physician. He explained the need for corrective surgery and the benefits and possible side effects. He did not push me to have cataract surgery. The procedure went very well and my vision is great, no need for glasses. I am 61 and night driving is still a challenge. I arranged a monthly payment plan as my insurance did not cover anything. The office staff is friendly, helpful and patient. The money I save on glasses more than covers my surgery after a few years. Dr. Steinfeld is a busy guy, but you feel you have his total attention during your visit. He is honest a forthcoming about the situation. I was given medicine to take after my procedure from his supply, this saved me lots of dollars. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone.

Dr. Steinfeld performed cataract surgery on me (2-29-2012). My reading vision improved greatly, the distance and night driving are not too good. I am considering getting the other eye done by him. Will wait to see, haha, if the vision improves or needs a capsulotomy. Staff is efficentand friendly. Service is prompt. I will reserve final rating for a time.
