Dr. Burnstein is a psychiatrist and not a therapist as many of the other reviewers apparently wish him to be. I have been going to him since (I believe) 2010. While at times I have had to wait 10 or so extra minutes prior to being taken back, it's something normal that I have literally experienced at any doctor's office I have ever been to.

One thing that I really do appreciate about Dr. Burnstein is that he's not quick to jump and put you on an additional medication. We had spoken at one point about going on antidepressants, I thought I was having a really rough time and they would help. I told him what was going on and he assured me it was normal for me to feel the way I felt given what I had been going through and suggested I give it a bit more time. By the next appointment, instead of being hooked on a drug, I felt much better and antidepressants weren't even a thought. Dr. Burnstein is certainly a quirky person, as most highly intelligent people are, but he's extremely kind and good at what he does.

Maybe he "raised his eyebrows" at the reviewer below because people try to take advantage of psychiatrists to get drugs and he was simply noticing something abnormal....which is his job.

Was late to the appointment by an hour, rushed the evaluation making me feel very uncomfortable. Raised his eyebrows when I didn’t answer a vague question immediately. Did not help at all. He said if I don’t answer soon that “we’d sit there all night” and giggled. He said that he had another appointment in 10 minutes so I should write down the answers to his questions in the next room. He didn’t notice I was upset by my continued crying.

I've been going to Dr. Burnstein for 3 years.I don't agree with the comments below because I personally have never had a bad experience with him. He's always polite and professional
I have noticed the amount of time spent with each patient seems quick but some seem longer.I think time spent with each patient may be short because they see him more frequently which means less needs to be discussed. But I believe he offers the appropriate time that is needed with each patient.

Dr. Burnstein gives psychiatrists a bad reputation. I found him to be duplicitous and felt extremely uncomfortable the one time I saw him. He was rude, arrogant and in my opinion has no business treating anyone with mental health issues. Unfortunately I think he needs psychiatric treatment. I am researching how to report him. He runs a pill mill.

Please don't go to this doctor. I honestly don't think he even listened to the problem at hand. He is what gives the profession a bad taste. Zero knowledge with the real world, Zero compassion! Done!

He should not be in a "helping" profession. Absolutely no feel of positive regard. Very closed off and judgmental. Also sarcastic and condescending.

He is in this for the money only! Kept leaving the office to fill up his coffee to kill time on evaluation. One day within 10 minutes I witnessed 4 different patients go in with Mr. Burnstein and come out with free meds in hand. I went in and the same thing. How you doing? I replied not good. Ok, doubling your meds. Here you go. See you in one month and out the door. How much money is this guy making every 2 minutes?
