My vision became worse when he prescribed me for the first time. My vision went downhill. At first, I trusted and liked Dr. Micley. I followed his advices, but he cares about selling glasses than my eyesight. He is working at eye glasses store. It's ironic, eye doctor working at eye glasses store. I think his advices are to get patient hooked on eye prescriptions. He only prescribes eye glasses, he doesn't believe in eye exercises, eye supplements. his only advice to wear eye glasses constantly. I followed his advice, my eyes got worse over the years. He wants to sell eye glasses. He cares about making money, than patients.

I do not know how much money he is making as a doctor, but selling used cars he'd be a billionaire. I saw him at his Norwood office last June. I needed new contacts and new regular glasses. I spent 3 hours there, in and out of his office back to the waiting area, trying to get to the bathroom without my contacts or glasses on (they dilated my pupils and sent me back to the waiting room for over an hour). He wanted me purchase the contacts for a year and when I told him that since the "fitting" is so absurdly expensive, I would rather buy them later form the 1-800 something company (as I did several times in the past, no complains). Then he rushed to the front desk and came back with what supposedly was some explanation of benefits from my co-insurance. He said that I was so lucky I had such a great insurance because I was getting the contacts literally for free. I was so tired, overwhelmed and frustrated that just decided to trust him... Long story short: I paid $550 and left, the contacts arrived a frew days later. Today I received a bill for $175 because that portion was "non covered per my insurance company". Avoid the place and this "doctor" in particular. Just a salesman.

Been seeing Dr. Micley for some years. Always good experience. Never wait long. I don't recall prices as high as mentioned by others, which, indeed, sound high. Don't recall signing forms either. I did lose touch with him for a few years when he moved from Longwood area to new practice group. But, didn't incur any higher than expected costs or forms to sign.

I have seen Dr. Micley on one other occasion and I thought he was a very good Dr. He explains everything regarding eye health very well. He also had very good chair-side manner. The only thing that was unfortunate is that he did not explain the cost of the contact lens fitting until we came to that part of the exam. While he explained that very well, it was very off putting. The fees were higher than I ever heard of and would only give me a discount if I opted to buy a full year supply of contact lenses. The fee was $338.00 and if I bought a year supply of lenses he'd give me some $ off and my cost would be around $800.00. I'm sorry but I do not have that kind of $ laying around. I had to decline the exam. After a month of searching, I found places that charge anywhere from $50-$150.00. Thats a huge difference from $338.00. I have the paper he wrote these prices down on to prove my quote. Its a shame because I liked the Dr but I flat out refuse to pay that much $ for something I can get an many other reputable places.

Dr. Micley went over the edge today, I joked to him that he had 1 miunte till our appointment and he says oh there is a 9:30 ahead of you. I told him that someone should of let use know that it was not fair that I rush to get to my appointment on time, and now I have to wait an extra 1/2 hour because your late. He flipped, told us that this is how he runs, that he may be on time, or late by up to 30 minutes and if I didn't like it, then he was not the Doctor for me. Then in his next breath he says he can still see me today, oh really, not on your life DOCTOR! You don't try to tell me off and then expect me to pay you. Who do you think you are? Are you insane... You can not talk to the very people who pay your salary that way.....BYE!

I've been seeing Dr. Micley for years. I am very myopic and he has given excellent care and advice. I have had excellent experiences with my contacts during this time. I read in the other review that his prices are high and he made the person sign a form. I am unsure how his fees compare to others' fees, but I never signed such a form. I have, however, signed such forms at my medical doctor's office for visits that may not be covered by insurance. I do not see such forms as a sign of deceit. All in all, I highly recommend Dr. Micley.

This optometrist is a rip off. I have been to other ODs in the past and have never paid this much. He has you sign a form in the back office to say he explained the cost to you. How shady is that?? Obviously if you have to do that some over charging is going on. He is a nice guy, but you should pay that much for contact lens exams.
