Dr. Pizzi did a 3 level cerv. fusion on me 8 yrs ago w/donor bone, plates & screws. 6 mos. after surgery I felt & heard a popping noise & my pain returned so I went back to Pizzi. After an Xray Pizzi stated the plates & screws in my neck looked great & said the pain was another bone spur & he needed to remove it. I decided to take the same Xrays from Pizzi to NYC to a Dr. I had gotten an opinion from prior to Pizzi operating on me.The Dr. was SHOCKED that a 3 level fusion had been done & said he had not seen a 43 year old with that many fusions unless they were car accident victims! The biggest concern he had was that a plate had shifted in my neck due to a lose screw & the screw was a MM from tearing a hole in my esophagus & said that I needed urgent surgery to fix it! Same exact Xray Pizzi had viewed! So why would Pizzi not disclose this or did he not even see it? It was clearly visible even to me on Xray! You can decide which it is! I WOULD NOT RECOMMNED PIZZI UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Dr. Pizzi performed cervical disc fusion via donor bone 8 years ago. I have been in perpetual pain since. When I returned for follow up and told him I was in severe pain, worse not better, he suggested different narcotics. Finally I have a diagnosis clearly showing that he replaced my disc with a bone that does not fit the space properly, thereby causing severe, relentless referred pain to my neck and shoulders. I don't know if he's still practicing, but I would not recommend him for surgery under any circumstances.
