Hello! I have had full trust in Dr. Salzmann for years. He has placed implants only when necessary and he allows me to be the final decision maker after looking at ALL treatment options. Many other patients contact the office staff for a consultation. That's noticeable by sitting in the waiting area. This is a huge plus as other general dentists are seeking out the best qualified periodontist for their own patient. I also go here for my quarterly periodontal cleanings to keep my dental health in check and, with proper brushing and flossing at home, I truly believe it has helped me to keep most of my natural teeth. And, when any type of dental procedure was truly necessary, it was performed with the highest care. I travel about an hour each way to the office and I do it to get the best possible care and expertise that I was not able to get elsewhere. Dr. Salzmann will refer out to an endodontist, for example, if a root canal would be the best treatment. I respect that. No matter the type of treatment I have had I know that it was absolutely necessary and feel that I am in the best capable hands of a preeminent periodontal specialist. My appointment times were always adhered to. This is a plus. Also, Dr. Salzmann has contacted my general dentist, as needed, to give updated information. This provides excellent coordination of service for the patient.

Dr. Salzmann is simply about the best health provider I have ever had. I have had many and all different specialties from dentistry to cardiology to GI , possibly ever specialty there is in medicine. He truly cares about your wellbeing and takes time to make sure you are taken care of. Never ever rushed, to the contrary.
I have had a few procedures with him. My latest was an emergency situation where I was gushing blood (a fountain of it coming out of my mouth) from my palette (roof of my mouth). This was from an injury caused by another totally different surgeon who woudl not care for the situation. I literally did not know what to do. My dr was not even looking at my mouth that did this to me. I was hoping somehow Dr. Salzmann would see me at some point soon. I called and he understood the situation. He said it was about the worst bleeding situation he's seen, and he had me all sewed up in a few mins. Really a life saver that day! It was amazing to know that there are people that care like he does when I was literally rejected just an hour before from my own dr. Yes a very weird situation!

Previous to that I was on a journey to replacing my resorbing (roots disappearing) two front teeth with implants. I even ventured off to NOVA after first seeing Dr Salzmann to try to perform the various procedures that I need ending up in an implant. I really wish I didn't waste my time going elsewhere at first. The Drs there are nice and professionals to an extent, but it's really not enough unless maybe you have the most basic and easiest of situations. But everyone is different, so I don't think there are many people with a 'basic' text book mouth. I know now when you get medical procedure done to you, no matter what it is, you need someone that actually has quality experience PLUS the knowledge and the caring.
I ended up going back to Salzmann after realizing I wasn't receiving the care needed and happened to end up being same cost as with nova. I went to Nova because at the time it made sense that I'd get the implants for less money, and I figured that I'd be fine in the end. That's not the case. It was a long wait when I went to Nova, and even pulling my teeth (easy front teeth) was a bad experience. After continuing with a few more procedures with them I decided I really need to cut my losses and go back to Salzmann. I'm really glad I did, as, for one, he had me all finished with just one implant when Nova insisted on two (I have a small mouth, and two was not needed even for two teeth). Fresh dentists just out of school will do what a textbook says, two teeth two implants. Going by the book and not having experience can only go so far. He got the implants in literally nearly painlessly and I had unnoticeable swelling afterwards. I almost could not tell at all that I had anything done to my mouth even the next day. He called me to make sure I was ok on top of that. I was waiting for the swelling and pain that never happened (I alway swell up like crazy with any procedures at all). Everyone's different so I'm sure some people will still swell up, and some pain is only natural after the novacaine wears off. but I can only say my own experience, I had almost none of it.

Dr. Salzmann has gone above and beyond as a health care provider, easily (which is not usually easy) earning the trust of myself and my mom. We will always see him for our perio needs. He's not that close to where I live and I know there are perios much closer, but going to them is not even a thought.

As a bonus I have never had an extended wait to see him. I'm sure there's situations where a patient would have to wait b/c unforseen things can happen to the patient before. But most of the dr's I go to every single time I sit in the waiting room for a very long time, no exception. Time is very very important. To me, time literally is money and dr's that consistently make you wait are just showing they do not care.

On top of that! His nurse is also amazing, she seems like she's a dentist herself. Super friendly and professional front desk staff. Gizella is great :) . I dont remember at the moment the names of the other staff, but I always feel super comfortable in the office and they all contribute to that.
Anyhow I'm super glad and feel very lucky to have Dr. Salzmann as a perio!

Dr. Salzmann and his staff were incredible! I was there for 2 gum graft procedures, which had me really nervous. Dr. S. explained the process and put my mind at ease. Both procedures went very well and have healed up nicely (1st was 8 months ago, 2nd was last month -- both no issues). After each of the procedures, Dr Salzmann called afterward for a personal follow-up, which was very much appreciated! Thanks for the great treatment!

Really pleased to have been referred to Dr. Salzmann. From the initial consultation through to the final procedure, four months later, Dr. Salsmann and his team guided me through the process and made the experience an easy one.
Communication was clear and the procedure was explained with great detail. No question went unanswered. Post surgery, Dr. Salzmann called to ensure there were no issues. I also appreciated the calm demeanour and professionalism of Dr. Salzmann and his team.
