Dr Moore was a severe disappointment as a medical professional. He was late to 90% of appointments. He was so angry, rude, and offensive in emails that he has no place working in medicine. He was also highly unethical in his discussions of other drs. He did not care that he was driving me to suicide. FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!

Dr. Moore was helpful to a point, and then he became very unhelpful. Initially, he was friendly, responsive, and very knowledegable.

After a couple months, things turned. I once made a quite lighthearted comment about his being (ten+ minutes) late, because he didn’t acknowledge it at all. I immediately let it go, but he never seemed to.

He was generally fine in sessions, but he was like Mr. Hyde in his emails - very curt, sarcastic, and took things immensely personally when I simply sought support in a time of need.

At this point, I began to see the rudeness he was capable of. He showed zero sympathy for my illnesses, which, you know, counts for something. (He used to run Emory’s eating disorders center. Yikes.)

The breaking point was when, after my antidepressant was discontinued, he told me I would experience no withdrawal side effects. I experienced horrendous side effects including suicidal ideation and loss of consciousness. He never took responsibility slight for this. He could have just said “I don’t know” beforehand and “I’m sorry I misled you” afterwards. Instead, he began to pick petty fights with me and gaslit me about the incident. I have the emails to prove it.

After this, we mutually agreed to end our relationship.

An aside: My therapist at the time shared that he had sent foully worded emails to her regarding her apparent overstepping of her bounds for suggesting a patient consider testing for a certain disorder. I can’t speak to this incident further. But I would like to reiterate that David Moore is a real meanie.

Dr. Moore was very easy to work with because he was genuinely concerned about me. He was thorough. He made sure that I understood everything about my condition and the treatment. As my circumstances changed, Dr. Moore worked hard to accommodate me.

Dr. Moore is exceptional. He is the most skilled psychiatrist that I have been to. He listens to concerns, symptoms, and side effects. He treats me as though I am his team member. He is consistently respectful. He also has a great sense of humor. One heads up: he is very honest and does not “candy coat” his professional opinion. I appreciate his style very much.

Dr. Moore always takes time to listen to me and is willing to change things around if needed. The only negative that I have is that it is hard to get an appointment with a therapist associated with his office, but I found one independently.

I found David Moore to be an excellent psycho pharmacologist, but unfortunately his bedside manner and communication skills are awful. He has a God complex and this manifests itself in his rigid practice of psychiatry. He is not interested in collaborating with patients to have a more integrative relationship. He wants his "patients" to be his psychotropic experiments irrespective of the cost in their mental health. He is extremely flippant, condescending and short in any email conversations. I would not recommend because he is extremely rigid, cold, and therefore was difficult to build a trusting relationship.
