There's a reason this guy is working for the workers compensation companies... He's a hack doctor- I got a denial on my request for a total knee replacement - the ONLY reason he could come up with was that since my BMI was NOT listed in the medical reports, therefore it MUST be over 35 (which would put me at 6'4 335lbs- when i'm 6'4 235 lbs) - so that was the reason for my early onset arthritis and denied my knee replacement. He can only get work as a hack and makes up what he can to please his employer- the Work Comp company... the good news was that since that was the ONLY reason he could find, and it wasnt true... they had to approve on the next request.. so he cost me 2.5 mo of wasted time off work until I could get it approved.

To the reviewer below. I also have been diagnosed with Cauda Equina. This doctor did a UR review and cut off medications that help me urinate. I am going to go through extreme pain and agony when my medications run out. Reading other reviews I can see what type of person he is. I agree that he only cares about money.

4 years ago this very day Dr Schiffman literally saved my life. In the 12 days prior to my appointment 6 doctors had sent me with pills shots and blank looks of confusion. They had no idea what was wrong and didn't care to find out. Within the first 5 minutes with Dr Schiffman he diagnosed me Cauda Equina Syndrome and prepped me for emergency surgery. He is my hero!

I felt a need to send a review on Dr. Shiffman after reading the negative comments by some patients. I had a very positive interaction with his staff and found them to be very helpful in every manner. My surgery was on my lower back to repair a previous bad surgery by another surgeon . I am now pain free, can walk like a normal person and do can my physical job properly. My personal experience with Dr. Shiffman is positive and I found him to be friendly and informative about my situation. I would recommend him to anyone having back issues without reservation.

The office staff are idiots. They not only dont care about you but they first didn't even write my xray script and had to wait an hour at the xray place downstairs for the office to open to send it over, and for my second Xray they wrote the wrong freaking name and wrong arm so I had to wait AGAIN! Absolutely unacceptable! Shiffman has zero bedside manners, but I think he's funny so I didnt mind. He's also a bit of a drug pusher but what doctor isn't these days. Find another Dr before choosing this one because of the terrible front office staff.

Staff was a bit rude. Wait time is long and no one even cares if we were there until we came up and asked. Office environment is not very clean. Dr did not even put on gloves when he touched my wound and was not gentle at all when he did. Instruments were not bagged in sterile bag like they were supposed to but we saw him just took out from a metal container and shortly after when no one was around, the assistant just put the dirty used scissor back inside. Very hard to make appointment and Dr is hard to reach or return phone call. Seems very cocky. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE.

Wow, I think these patients really know Dr. Schiffman It's all about the money for this guy. I thought he was wanting to do surgery to fast with me.
