    Biography

    Dr. Rodgers joined the faculty of the Department of Surgery in 2006. He holds appointments in the divisions of Endocrine Surgery and Surgical Oncology. He is highly experienced in the management of endocrine disorders and routinely performs thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, laparoscopic and open adrenalectomy, and pancreatectomy (Whipple procedure and distal pancreatectomy). He is considered a high-volume endocrine surgeon in Miami (i.e., thyroid surgeon, parathyroid surgeon, adrenal surgeon, and pancreas surgeon) with experience treating advanced and recurrent disease. He has a particular interest in genetic syndromes such as multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN types I, IIA, and IIB) and Von Hippel Lindau disease.He attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where he earned a medical degree (MD), as well as a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, after which he finished a two-year fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Surgical Oncology with a focus on Endocrine Surgery.Dr. Rodgers sees patients at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center near downtown Miami and at UHealth at Plantation in Plantation, Florida. He operates at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
