After numerous attempts at scheduling a new patient appointment for prenatal care, I finally got in to see a midwife at this office. Since I don't get periods because I used to have the Merina in, I didn't know how far along I was, and the midwife was supposed to to a US to confirm how far a long I was. Well, who ever the midwife was that I seen was an idiot. First she has me sitting in the back room for an hour naked, comes in two separate times and says "oops, wrong patient", then for another 30 mins she sits in the room with me and keeps saying " well, these dates don't add up" I kept telling her I was there to get an US to determine where I was. In the end, Dr. Easterling seen me and did an US real quick before he left and gave me the date I needed. He was really nice, and funny. I will end up seeing only him for my prenatal care.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Easterling. The office was very nice and clean. The staff was very nice. I waited no longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room and exam room. I trust him and he is great to explain everything to me.

My regular OB/GYN is another doctor in the practice (Gulf Coast OB/GYN in Sarasota, FL), but a few weeks into my pregnancy, I began to have terrible cramps on one side. The nurse on call was concerned, and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Easterling as my doctor was unavailable.

After waiting quite a while in the room (which is somewhat understandable, as it was a last minute appointment), Dr. Easterling bursts into the room while reading my chart. Without so much as a hello, he proceeded to say, "Let's see here. You're here because you are...pregnant. Again," followed by a heavy sigh, emphasizing his obvious annoyance that I was pregnant with my fourth baby.

He then instructed me to lay down, saying, "Let's take a look here," and proceeded to give me he roughest, most painful vaginal exam. After he finished, I was about to sit up, when he suddenly shoved a speculum into me, which he opened very abruptly (instead of slowly, like every other doctor I've had does.) Next he began to preform a Pap smear, only telling me as he was swabbing my cervix, which he did so roughly it brought tears to my eyes. Afterwards, he asked me if I was still nursing my 12 month old, to which I responded that, yes, I was. "Well, stop immediately. It's bad for the baby." Not only is this impractical advice (weaning a baby isn't as simple as just stopping), it's not true. Current recommendations from the ACOG state that breastfeeding while pregnant is contraindicated nor does it pose any risk in a typical pregnancy. Either Dr. Easterling was being purposefully obtuse or he is ignorant about current medical recommendations. Neither one is acceptable.

When he finished his exam, he left the room telling me to talk to the exit receptionist to schedule an ultrasound. There were no words of comfort, despite being concerned about the viability of my baby, no "congratulations on your pregnancy".

I refuse to see this doctor, and I will not allow him to present at my baby's birth.

Very unprofessional, rushed me through every appt. Called me kiddo. Ended up developing preeclampsia and an abruption, and delivered 2 days after my 31 week check up where I expressed concern about the excessive swelling in my ankles hands, and face. I sat crying to him during my post partem visit about how bad and guilty I was feeling about the early birth, and that I thought I might be depressed. He said, "Well what do you want me to do? You want meds? A referral? what!?" The staff said that I had a low threshold for pain tolerance because it was time to get my staples out and I said I needed more pain meds, to which they declined. Turns out there was a bucket of fluid where my incision was that spurted out like old faithful when the staple was removed and pressure applied. Needless to say, I received an apology from 1 staff member and my script was refilled.

First time mom here. This was my doctor. Every appointment I had with him I felt rushed and when I asked questions he was very quick with one word answers and almost seemed annoyed. When my husband came got out of work early so he could come with me the doctor didn't even introduce himself or say one word. I really never felt comfortable with him. He has no bedside manners at all. I did see Dr. Doyle who was wonderful. He introduced himself, took his time, explained alot and made me feel really comfortable. I didn't feel rushed or like I was annoying him. I would recommend choosing a different doctor.

More than $400 in a one mth period out of pocket. Excessive testing. Threatened cancellation of surgery 2 days before w/o 10% copay, knowing I had paid out an excessive amount of money,as a surgeon and Gastro Dr. were all treating me in the same month. Bedside manner, non existent. No pre op or post op communication with family on the day of surgery, nor did I receive post op instructions.

I have been a patient of Gary Easterling for many years. It made no difference what insurance I had.I got the same compassionate care every time.He performed my hysterectomy and has cared for me since my dbl mastectomy for breast cancer. He is very aware of my concerns and spends time(although he is very busy) addressing all of my options. He allows me to be an active participant in my medical care and treats me with the utmost respect. There have been times that a staff member or two has been rude but I believe that you need to handle that accordingly and be aware that most doctors don't even know that is happening at their front desk.I have worked in medicine for over 20 years.I believe people should take in to consideration whether these doctors have been up all night delivering babies or are behind schedule due to the same or because they needed to take a few extra minutes with someone who needed some extra time(like me).If you feel rushed, you, as the patient, need to speak up.

I wouldn't advise anyone making appts with any dr's in this practice. Staff is so very rude. They pick and choose who they want to treat nicely. Don't ever say anything bad about dr's or practice or they will send you a letter to go to another doctor and blow you off on the phone like your nobody. Trust me it's worth seeing another doctor other than anyone in this practice. I have dealt with one dr in this practice who no longer is in practice. There are too many bad ratings even after years of trying to go back. I was stupid to think the staff or doctors cared about their patients. The staff is mainly the worst. I've been hung up on and I've been blown off. Management staff never around to be spoken to.
