I saw Dr. McAlexander this morning and I am a very happy Patient! First of all, he took his time with me and was extremely thorough. Over the last couple of weeks, I have seen two doctors ( one family physician and an urgent care PA). The first doctor spent all of four minutes with me, threw out a bogus diagnosis and sent me on my way. The urgent care doctor was kind and tried, I will give him credit, but again, no true reason as to why I was in pain. Dr. McAlexander got to the root of my issue and really explained in detail what was happening and why. He explained in layman terms and I was able to fully understand what is wrong and how we are going to fix it. I could not be any more pleased with the care I received. His staff are all caring and considerate and I immediately felt cared for and that I mattered. I highly recommend this office if you are struggling and not getting answers! Dr. McAlexander is extremely knowledgeable and professional and you can tell he really enjoys what he does and that his patients being pain free is important to him. Having an incredibly delightful staff working with him was a bonus! I highly recommend this office with no hesitation!

Dr. James D. McAlexander, DPM of Gig Harbor Foot and Ankle Clinic is amazing! On the first day I saw him, he noticed that my right leg is slightly shorter than my left leg, so he watched me walk up and down the hallway. Then he adjusted my Shoe Insert Orthotic - which immediately straightened out my gait! All this time I never knew I was walking while leaning slightly to the right. He’s a 10 in my Book! He has been my foot dr for almost ten years now, and he’s always given me the results I was looking for! He cares deeply for the welfare of his patients and listens intently. He is willing to give alternatives to expensive medications to help us out too if there is a cheaper alternative to treatment! Love this guy!

A very caring doctor who gave me the time attention I needed, not just 5 minutes like the big health system doctors. The orthotics have helped my feet greatly.

At first we were happy with the services; however, as time went on so did the list of ailments (including bone infection, blood clot, etc.).

My mom's PCP didn't agree with McAlexander's findings, nor did the hosptial, nor the radiologist, nor the wnd opinion orthopedic. I am so sad, upset, and dumb founded on what happened. He was so believable. 😔 I will never take my mom back there, and will never recommend anyone to him.

Oh and one of the receptionist is his wife of which we did not receive a friendly or welcoming introduction. We didn't even know she was his wife until we were going to file a complaint. McAlexander is friendly, personable, and kind. Check around the podiatrist community before going here.

I went to Dr. McAlexander for a 2nd opinion. He was knowledgeable and detailed and knew the exact treatment for my feet/toes. He explained everything. He attended my feet for 1 hour. He saw a very serious bone infection in my foot x-ray that the radiologist had missed which saved my two big toes. He doesn’t just rely on the x-ray report, he reviews the actual x-rays to make sure nothing is missed. I have been going to him since December 2017 and I won’t trust anyone else with my foot care. His staff Nancy, Allie, and Barbara are excellent. God Bless them all. May 2, 2018
