I have to get MRI's when I have the money. They say I am really messed up
and now its major surgery, not minimally invasive

I have been going to Dr. Mohr for years. He did an amazing job on my first surgery. No one can even tell I have a scar. His personal staff is understanding and compassionate. I highly recommend him to everyone.

Took my 11 year old to see him. He was absolutely wonderful! Talked directly to him and listened to his concerns. Excellent bedside manner. Very impressed with his knowledge. He was very straight forward about possible issues. Great experience all around!

Dr Mohr & his staff are awesome! Dr Mohr did a complicated back surgery on me a week ago & I’m doing amazingly well. I highly recommend Dr Mohr as a surgeon. He is friendly, very experienced, his skills & professionalism are outstanding & I have already recommended him to 2 family members. Good luck with your orthopedic problems.

Biography

R. Alexander Mohr, M.D., joins Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine as a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. His specialty is operative treatment of spinal disorders including disc degeneration, spinal trauma, sports related spine issues, scoliosis and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He completed the prestigious University of Wisconsin spine fellowship under the direction of Dr. Thomas Zdeblick. He served three and a half years as the Director of the Division of Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the University of Connecticut and the Assistant Director of the New England Musculoskeletal Institute’s Comprehensive Spine Center. He played Left Tackle at Utah State University where he graduated with honors (summa cum laude) and finished his senior year with Utah State winning the Las Vegas Bowl 2. He then completed medical school with honors at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He finished his five-year Orthopedic residency at the University of Utah where he was earned research awards and was elected Administrative Chief Resident. He was invited to an Orthopedic spine fellowship at the prestigious University of Wisconsin spine fellowship under the direction of Thomas Zdeblick, M.D., Clifford Tribus, M.D., Paul Anderson, M.D. Dr. Mohr is trained in surgical and nonsurgical management of most spinal pathology. He instructs other physicians: orthopedic and neurosurgical residents, fellows and attendings in complex spinal procedures, minimally invasive techniques and construct planning. He is a devoted sports enthusiast who enjoys working with athletes to return them to sport after sports related spinal injuries. He specializes in Football injuries both in diagnosis and prevention. Dr. Mohr is a fellowship trained Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and the Lumbar Spine Research Society. He is also a board-certified member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He welcomes new patients at both our NCMC and Lakewood offices.
