While I was in treatment, he mocked me (telling me that I didn’t take enough morphine to kill myself) threatened me (if I didn’t detail what triggered my attempt on demand, he would keep me indefinitely), and showed zero empathy (when forced to explain, he told me to stop crying and wasting his time). He told a patient with a history of eating disorders that prescribed meds wouldn’t make her fat; he told another that he didn’t know what BPD was.

His “treatment” is to terrorize patients into compliance. This is the last person who should be entrusted with patients in a fragile state.

Horrible doctor who does not listen or treat people. Daily meetings with him are limited to 3-5 minutes. He does not counsel or provide therapy. He only manages an involuntary commitment program. He has no interest in your well being, only that you say what he wants to hear if you want to get released from his prison. Evil. No one has anything good to say about him.

He is terrible. Demeaning, rude, inconsiderate and showed no empathy or compassion whatsoever. I would recommend staying away from him.

Was misdiagnosed. Given the wrong meds. Had meds withheld. Was threatened into signing off that I was feeling safe and would obey his program. The man is a monster.

This dr is the worst dr ever. My son had the unfortunate luck of getting him at Whitter pavilion. Because my son had never had any mental health issues I was weary of DrLipin's diagnosis. My son has been a drug addict for at least seven years. He had just been in holy family hospital mental health unit, wherae they drugged him with lots of Ssri drugs. These drugs raised a person's serotonin levels when mixed with the methadone he was on. Thru the social worker Katie, at whittier, I asked for a 5-HT test to be done. This test the serotonin level. Katie told me the Dr would do it and take my son off Ssri drugs, as a precaution. When I asked about the results, I was told the Dr didn't order it. I was furious. So, I did a little checking and found out that if the serotonin was high as I thought, that it would be a medical issue, not mental and the insurance company would insist he be sent for medical treatment and not pay for the mental health. So, in fact this dr lipin risked my son's life for financial gain. Stay away from him and Whittier.
