Website says she's taking new patients; she is NOT. Apparently because she’s the only endocrinologist in Santa Fe, she’ll see only people who “meet her criteria.” Sorry doc, if my PCP believes I need to see an endocrinologist, you need to take that seriously. Also the receptionist maybe should find a job she doesn’t hate? The whole office is appalling. Probably worth driving to ABQ for someone who will actually take care of you.

Dr. doesn't spend adequate time taking patient's history. Seems to go by the book, without considering the individual complexities of a case. Is not very knowledgeable in key areas, Doesn't work well with the patient, but rather, dictates to the patient on the basis of inadequate case info.

A few years ago she would have gotten 5 stars across the board but not anymore. I don't know if she's too busy or burned out but she has definitely changed. Takes multiple phone calls to get refills called in and gave me a hassle about wanting to up my thyroid meds, which I've only had raised once in the many years I've seen her. Was very dismissive of my symptoms, which I had been ignoring for almost a year until I put the pieces together and figured out it was my thyroid. Certainly not her fault but she used to be great about listening to her patients - not so much anymore.

Doesn't take time to listen to patient. Makes snap decisions on basis of chart & test results only. Difficult to communicate with. Easily exasperated when patient tries to explain treatment history & symptoms, in an attempt to arrive at an appropriate treatment plan. Dr. Sawyer is mostly in her head, and not grounded in the complexities of patient's reality.
