Just saw Dr. Salvay and he has renewed my faith in the medical profession. He is smart, kind and really takes time to explain things to his patients. I highly recommend him and plan to have surgery under his care with confidence.

I had such a terrible experience with him....i used a medical abortion and ended up going in the office for an ER d and c procedure. I only got a shot of toridol and an ativan which did nothing. Then he comes in and starts putting things into me and says im going to feel a pinch and he did a cerix block......but he didn't wait for anything to kick in and started vacuuming me! I screamed and yelled stop but he did it twice.....I was in soo much pain and shock that i sat There for five minutes of silence.

I researched high and low for a good surgeon. Dr Salvay is doing amazing things with robotic surgery! I met with him and knew immediately (after having previously seen other drs) that he was the surgeon for me. He may not be known for his bedside manner ( from my experience years ago) but I was very happy that he listened to all my needs and took them seriously. He also was able to see much faster than several other drs I had called, especially since I was bleeding heavily and anemic this was important...other dr's did not care. After having checked my issues out he was able to schedule me for surgery within 2 weeks so I could finally stop the suffering I was in. He was very careful during surgery to do it well and to meet my needs. He is an excellent surgeon and I highly recommend him and Sutter hospital and their robotic surgery center!!

Growing up my mother was an MA for a top OB/GYN in Los Gatos for 30 years. I've had the best medical care since I can remember. Let me tell you what I know about Dr. Salvay. He is as I refer to him, "the god of the scalpel." The first time I met him a million years ago, I was quite taken aback by his aloofness. Pregnant with my third child, I was concerned. My first two were delivered by the doc who had cared for me my whole life. Since then I've had two c-sections, a hysterectomy and various other conditions. I absolutely adore him, yes in that weird kind of patient/doctor way where you trust your life to another. He isn't perfect. He can be moody and he isn't always as prepared as apparently some would like but if it's the superbowl baby, there's no one else.

He was the on-call partner when my water broke. what a memorable experience to meet him at the birth of our first child. Informed that I was a week overdue and finally my water broke he cocked his head and asked, "are you sure that you didn't just pee yourself?". At nine months pregnant, I considered myself an expert at the latter bodily function! I was jumpy when he snapped on the latex gloves and began my examination. His response was to quip that I'd "never be able to tolerate labor and childbirth" and that my reaction to the pelvic exam probably had to do with the fact that I had "been molested". The happy ending is that my real doctor got there before I gave birth and I've never had to see him again.

10 days post op for a fibroid removal with hysterectomy and a surprise ovarian tumor, which took my ovary too. All skillfully removed through my belly button! Amazed that this was even possible! Dr Salvay, his OR team and the nurses at Sutter Surgery Center were all very friendly, thorough and took care of everything for me. My pain was managed very well, and I'm on the mend with no scar. Dr. Salvay was very empathetic after surgery explaining what was found, and I'm so lucky to have found him. I'd needed surgery for months. I was in pain ,and didn't care about abdominal scars. (I'd been told that this would have to be an abdominal surgery.)I never expected to find such a trustworthy, friendly, and skilled surgeon ~ with a sense of humor to boot! He really gave me back a quality of life that has been missed for a long time and I will forever be grateful...(and my husband will too :)! If you need surgery, don't hesitate to call Dr. Howard Bradly Salvay, he is the bomb!

I rate Howard Salvay as the best doctor because he is the best doctor I've ever had. My condition had escalated into an emergency status because my uterus was full of fibroids and I was basically bleeding to death. He removed my fibroids within 6 days of our first visit because he saw the severity of my situation. I now am living a full and productive life.

He was rude and condescending. He was my on-call Dr. when my daughter was born and seems to be in a funk from the moment he walked through the door. My whole family got a bad taste in their mouths from him too. He seemed arrogant and in a hurry to get the baby out even though it wasn't an emergency situation. He didn't feel like sitting around for nature to take it's course and yanked her out with a vacuum causing me to tear in two areas. I felt that happen and it was incredibly painful and yelled for him to stop and he didn't. I couldn't sit without a donut pillow for over 2 weeks after giving birth and I blame him for that pain. I'm considering changing practices just to avoid the chance of him delivering my second child. I'm baffled that so many people seem to like him, I guess I got him on a bad day.

Dr. Salvay is the best. His bedside manner is not why I see him. I see him because he can do amazing things. If you want warm and fuzzy get a puppy, if you want a doctor who does unbelievable things go to him.

I just had surgery with Dr. Salvay. I had my uterus removed and some reconstruction due to pelvic prolapse. He is an AMAZING surgeon. He was very caring, skilled, confident, assuring. I felt like i "was in the right place" Dr's get busy and he does have a full plate sometimes, but when it comes to my body and my health, I would not have had anyone else perform this surgery. I am extremely happy with my results, was feeling good by about the 4th day post op. I believe his skills are unsurpassed as a surgeon. If you are on the fence, I really hope this helps you!
