I am not surprise to read the negative comments about Dr. Smith. She almost caused me my life August 2008. It is only by God’s grace that I am still alive. Dr. Smith was my GYN from 1998 to 2008. She operated on me to removed fibroid what she called a “routine surgery”. A three (3) day stay turned into a 10 day stay, because I somehow developed bowel obstruction when she was closing me back up. During recovery my stomach was so distended (bloated), so another GYN doctor sent me to have x-rays done on my stomach. Dr. Smith seemed taken aback that another doctor would send me for x-rays to see if I had developed bowel obstruction. She did not believe I had bowel obstruction. Come to find out I had developed partial bowel obstruction after the fibroid surgery. I wasn’t released from the hospital until 10 days later after the fibroid surgery. I returned to the emergency room on day 11, because I had developed full bowel obstruction. I had to have emergency surgery to correct the problem, so I was cut again in the same C-section location where they went in to remove the fibroids 11 days later. I stayed in the hospital for another 5 days before being released from the bowel obstruction surgery, but the night before I was being released I told the nurse my leg was hurting. She informed Dr. Smith and Dr. Smith ignore my claim about my leg hurting. It wasn't until I was being checked out of the hospital is when I told the vascular surgeon (who performed by bowel obstruction surgery) my leg was hurting. He immediately sent me for a Doppler on my leg. It turned out I had a blood clot. When Dr. Smith heard about it she said to me, “I thought it could have been a DVT, but you are so young and healthy, so I didn't think much of it". Instead of her looking into the leg pain she was totally dismissive just like she was when I had partial bowel obstruction after my fibroid surgery, which in both instances turned out to be very serious. I was sent home after discovering that I had the blood clot in my leg with blood thinners, but was rush back to the emergency room 2 days later because I was having shortness of breath and back pain. The blood clot broke off and travelled to my lungs. I had multiple blood clots in both of my lungs. I had another surgery to have an IVC filter put in under my vena cava so the clots would not travel to my heart and kill me. Three (3) months later I had the filter removed. Dr. Smith was negligent and almost caused me my life. It is only by God’s grace I am still alive. I would not recommend anyone going to her, because a routine fibroid surgery went wrong at the hands of Dr. Smith. Instead of me having one (1) surgery and a minimum 3 day hospital stay, I had a total of four (4) surgeries and a total of 21 day stay in the hospital. Had I known a routine fibroid surgery at the hands of Dr. Smith would have yielded the complications I had, because of her negligence I would have let another doctor performed my surgery. I thank God I am alive today to share my story with you.

My first visit she didn't show up. They told me she had an emergency. My second visit I waited for an hour then I left. I have no idea when she arrived. My time is just as valuable as hers. I never went back. First impressions is very important to me.

Dr.Donna Smith almost killed me I was 9 months and two weeks pregnant , I was experiancing severe swelling in my thighs , knees, and feet. I went to her office twice in one week I gained 7lbs in two days and I had extreme shortness of breath. She ignored all my symptoms and told me I was normal. Now I am suffering from a heart comdition called bi-atrial enlargement. She would not take me out of work I stand up all day at work and she refused to take me out. In a result from her actions I was putting too much stress on my heart retaining fluid. She was negligent unprofessional and arrogant during my whole pregnancy please save your life and stay away from her ! She only has one nice professional girl on her staff, if you see her please tell her to work for somone else

First annual visit I had with Dr. Smith was great, she was punctual and I was in and out in less than an hour. The office is very run down, but overall had a good experience. Second year, I showed up for my appointment and they said that she was running late and I would wait 45 minutes. I was the first appointment of the day, and she was late. They didn't feel the need to call. This year, I called to make an appointment, was on hold for 5 minutes, and had a rude receptionist tell me I already had one. I showed up for the appointment a couple minutes early, got to listen to the receptionist/medical assistant gossip until they turned the TV on. Then, I was called up, I was told that she texted the doctor to see if she is on her way. Why would the doctor not show up when she has appointments scheduled?! I waited another 35 minutes and gave up and left. Very poor service and will definitely never return.

She saved my life-2013 AZ. She could tell I had cancer, but it was hiding. She pushed Cigna and finally got a PET scan- Stage 3 Primary Peritoneal Cancer. I felt she did everything she could for me- I had surgery & chemo, now cancer free. Thank you Donna Marie Smith. I never really got to thank you.
