I was forced to see this woman years ago as a child and cannot stress enough how much I hope no other child will EVER have to deal with a person (let alone doctor) like this. She has zero sense of compassion, no respect for children/adolescents or their intelligence, thoughtlessly medicates her patients etc. I was compelled to write this review today 10-15 years later after talking to my mom and finding out she told my adoptive parents that I “would be dead had they not adopted me,” with no knowledge WHATSOEVER about my birth parents. I can’t even conceive how or why a doctor would relay such an ignorant, abusive statement and am freshly disgusted with Dr. O’Rourke on a whole new level. I remember hating this woman so much, that I would refuse to speak a word to her as a teenager, and she would take it upon herself to adjust my medication anyway, with no information whatsoever to go off of. I can’t speak on the subject of follow up or professional practices as I wasn’t the adult in the situation, but I can honestly say that as a 25 year old, I deal with the damaging effects of her ignorance as a doctor on a daily basis.

Our family was forced to see this woman for numerous years because of an HMO plan. I can not stress how demeaning and thoughtless this woman is. I completely agree with the other person here, regarding her horrific treatment from Dr. O'Rourke. If I had to say anyone's medical license should be suspended, it would be her's. I wouldn't take my dog to this woman for care.

I have never encountered a more unstable, inconsistent physician in any specialty in my life. She answers no questions, or if she does, her answers contradict each other from moment to moment. She does not follow up with patients or their parents at all, even in very serious situations. She will take a few anectdotal notes and form conclusions on your entire family situation. These strong negatives are especially disturbing since her specialty is child and adolescent psychiatry. She actually caused our family a great deal of harm due to her toxicity. If there were any stronger way of saying how bad of a doctor she is, I would certainly use that terminology. Stay away from Colleen O'Rourke and the staff at Mercy Options in Janesville Wisconsin.
