Over a period of 2 years my mom had an open wound traveling up her neck. It started with a biopsy smaller than a grain of rice at the base of her neck. It then turned in to a one inch gaping wound and traveled up behind her ear as a hole about one half inch in diameter. My mom was seeing Dr. Truckenbrod every 3-4 months. And I wrote and called the Dr about my concerns. And I was not on release of confidential info., in fact no one in our family was, so she could not speak to me. I kept telling my mom she had better go to a dermatologist and my mom said “if the Dr is concerned about it and tells me to go I will.” (What Dr. is not concerned about a gaping wound that won’t heal) So I finally went to the Dr with my mom. And at that time it was behind her ear. The Dr. said “I never thought too look behind your ear.” I just could not say anything I was so angry. My mom, 83 yrs old at the time, had to have a 13 hour surgery due to extensive cancer under the skin. Hold your hand up and spread your fingers against your neck just below your ear. That is how extensive the cancer was. She lost part of ear lobe, and several nerves in face and neck and has a skin flap 2 inches across and about 5 inches long and 3 inches across at the bottom. And she lost a major muscle which leaves her arm weak. Not to the mention the foot long scar she has on her side/back where they had to get the skin flap.

I have been a patient of Dr. Truckenbrod's for over 15 years. I have found her to be a caring, understanding, and very competent doctor. She is not afraid to tell one what they should be doing different for better health. She has been extremely helpful in dealing with my special problems, referring me to specialists and adjusting or changing medications. She is easy to talk to and has a good sense of humor. I have a long history of trauma starting with severe injuries in a motorcycle accident and, as a result, have seen many, many doctors over the years. She is exceptional.

The worst doctor I've ever been to. Condescending, smug, didn't listen to me at all. Dismissed every issue of mine to the fact that I'm fat. Contemptuous.

Dr. Truckenbrod had a judgmental and shaming attitude towards me - she misinformed me about health risks in what I believe was an attempt to scare me into losing weight. She dismissed other health concerns, telling me to "just lose weight" to make my body feel better overall. A good doctor knows that being overweight isn't necessarily the cause of every health problem - and that not every fat person is sure to have type 2 diabetes. I was given substandard, biased care because I'm fat. Luckily I found a new doctor who treats me with respect and explores other possibilities before assuming that every problem must be related to my weight.

I came in with functional disorders, including IBS and fibromyalgia, and concerns about risk factors for heart disease because I have a multi-generational family history. She diagnosed me as a hypochondriac. Thank god I didn't accept her attitude; I now have a fantastic doctor who found that my IBS was due to food allergies and who was concerned enough to also find the source of my fibro, which is joint hypermobility and poor sleep. I would suggest that Dr. Truckenbrod try to look beyond her own pre-conceived notions to the actual patient sitting before her. Oh--and as to my concerns about my risk factors? They were also valid. I am now on statins. I recently got my records from Fairview; I was shocked to see just how much she got wrong in her recall of our conversations. No wonder.

After the birth of my daughter I wanted to stay in my same clinic so I chose Dr. Truckenbrod to be my daughter's pediatrician. My daughter had a difficult first few days and was in the NICU. Dr. Truckenbrod never came to check on her while we were there. At my daughter's first week visit (and my first time in the same room with Dr. Truckenbrod) I immediately was frustrated. She didn't know anything about my daughter, she never introduced herself to me. She looked very irritated to be there. She 'tested' my daughters hips and said there was a clicking noise and that I would have to bring her in for an ultrasound as soon as possible. I came to find out it is not recommended for babies to be exposed to ultrasounds for at least 5 weeks. Dr. Truckenbrod also refused to help me wean my daughter off of nursing stating 'that's not my job.' She then went on to tell me I looked terrible and that I needed to get out for a walk or two. We hadn't even been out of the hospital for 3 days!

Great with the kids and very knowledgeable/caring, too bad they don't have enough appointment openings for us to still go to see her.

I recently had an appointment with her, and the results of my blood test were very good. This was due to her giving me the proper medicine and advice over the last few years. She has been my doctor for three years. When I started with her my blood pressure was high and I was having alot of trouble breathing. She put me on medicines and a regimen that has corrected much of my symptoms. Although I still have problems, much of which is because of my age and because I have smoked alot in the past. I quit smoking 20 years ago, but I had already damaged my lungs beyond full recovery.Thank you
