I have been combing my medical records and researching standards of care for the four neurological disorders that he has been treating me for. I fault the VA in part because they are not doing enough locally to access and follow-up on these individuals by gathering feedback from the patient or their families, providing a social worker whose job is to ensure that patients are being properly educated and informed specific to their diagnosed medical condition or suspected medical condition, accountability for treatment plans and to ensure the actual plan written into the medical record is explained to the veteran or their family member, I also believe that the primary care doctor should also have access to those treatment records and be informed of the case management plan.

The VA outpatient experience is unique because everything is under one roof and mostly all the clinical departments share the same computer system. However, I am sure there is limited access and sharing of patient treatment records. However, their needs to be a method of more transparency between the primary care doctor and especially Neurology. The patient should not have to be their own first responder to their own concerns about medical neglect. The receptionist and nurses hear and see things most of all they see patterns. One of the most significant patterns is office visits.

I was being scheduled for regular neurology visit. However my medical record note indicated that I was seen in the sleep clinic also given that I have five medical conditions that are co-morbid meaning they co-exists like a family sharing the same house. The house in my case is my body and the family members are Multiple Sclerosis, Sleep Apnea, Narcolepsy, Learning Disabilities and Depression. Therefore, given my multiple neurological disorders I should be seen an average of 6-times in a year. I was often seen about two or three times in a year and on some occasions my appointments were cancelled and rescheduled into the next year. The VA must sharpen their checks and balances so they will at least have the suspect on their radar. The fact that I see that the previous complaint has been registered with the VA causes me to wonder what was done to investigate the complaint. I might have been spared and in other cases Dr. Buell may have been responsible for a death or serious accident.

I believe Dr. Buell manipulated the data from my sleep study and pronounced me to be cured from sleep Apnea. I do have medical evidence to support that he made false reports of actual medical data. I was reevaluated for sleep apnea using a take home device and I later learned I was never a candidate for this because I had previously been diagnosed with sleep apnea and narcolepsy. I had two prior sleep studies confirming the diagnosis of sleep apnea by non VA sleep specialty clinic dating back ten years ago. I eventually got a second opinion to resolve my suspicions about Dr. Buell’s findings. However, this took place after being diagnosed with another neurological disorder of Multiple Sclerosis. I even reported to him that I was chronically fatigued on one occasion I had to go to the emergency room and was missing work. I fault multiple providers because I had a traumatic event happen to me during my deployment and at one time I was seeing three behavioral health specialists.

I needed a refill of my narcolepsy med Dr. Buell refused w/o new sleep study. He gave me a take home study wrote false report of findings. Overnight study was done he told the same lie. He stopped my meds for 10-months. Never tested me for Narcolepsy used old testing from 2009. My research of Dr. Buell has become almost like a Crime Scene Investigation with me. He has been using his knowledge Neurology, Sleep Medicine and Psychology to exploit me and undermine my care. He has become skillful at gaining trust, averting suspicion and manipulating variables to conceal his behavior. I give honor to God for helping me to connect the dots and for giving me the strength to figure it out. Praise be to God! FYI you have the abbreviated version.

Special Shout out for the individuals hosting this web site & other VA victim. You may have saved someone's life and I encourage and request that you bring this to the attention of the FBI. The facts will speak volumes and the attention to this situation will make more consumers aware of what they need to be doing to protect themselves and the significance of making a report of medical neglect and malpractice. Now you have what I affectionately call my "Public Service Announcement" please do your part in notifying the FBI.

I had a very unpleasant appointment with Dr. Bell at the VA in Columbus. He seemed to be very agitated in his demeanor over all . He used some somewhat coarse language which I thought was inappropriate for the situation.he also seemed very judgmental as if he had a bad opinion of me from the outset even though we had never met.He seem to resent that I would ask him questions about my condition.I have done some research online and had a list of questions that I wanted to ask him. That seemed to set him off the most. My appointment ended with my telling him that I was very disappointed in his behavior and I left early. I also made a complaint about him to the VA. I was switched to another doctor with in the sleep medicine department. And have since seen another neurologist within that department who is new. Dr. Buell seem to me to either be on drugs or needed to be on drugs.in my 10 years at the VA that is being treated at the VA this is the first doctor that I have ever had a complaint about.
