I have seen many doctors in my life and I want to tell you that Dr. Sherman Reeves is among the worst that has cared for me. Not only is he rude, arrogant and has absolutely no concern for his patients well-being. He has absolutely ruined my wonderful cornea replacement that was done by another doctor at MN Eye Consultants. He was a doctor on call one afternoon at the end of the workweek when one of the stitches came loose from my transplant. When I seen him he asked me if I thought it was fair that he should have to stay late on a Friday afternoon to care for me (it was 5 PM). At first I thought he was kidding but he was not. He was pretty upset in fact. He told me that he should just pull all the stitches in that eye and be done with them. I explained to him that Dr. Davis said I would not need glasses or contacts when she was done pulling stitches from the transplant because she removes them one at a time over many months. She also said the cornea she placed in my eye was one of the clearest and best corneas she has ever seen. A few months later another stitch broke loose on a Saturday morning. Dr. Reeves again was the doctor on call and very upset that he had to come in Saturday morning to pull that stitch out for me. He told me again he should just pull all the stitches and I told him again no, that Dr. Davis told me how she likes to have them removed and that he was not to pull all of them. Unbeknownst to me that morning he did it anyway and pulled all of them even the zigzag stitch that ran completely around the cornea. On my way home I had such a terrific headache we had to stop the car several times for me to vomit. Then it continued throughout the day so I called back to their after hours phone number. They told me they could have Dr. Reeves see me and I told them NO that he was the reason I needed to be seen. I went the rest of the weekend with such a terrific headache I could hardly stand it. On Monday morning I went to the clinic and that is where the technician told me that all my stitches were gone from my eye. Dr. Davis asked me what happened over the weekend and I explained it to her, she was very upset. “Didn’t you tell him to pull all the stitches.” I told her no and she was pretty upset with Dr. Reeves. (Sounded like that it what he wrote in his notes that day) She told me there was nothing she could do and that I could expect headaches to continue for at least four months. In that time I could not be fitted for contacts because of the instability of the cornea. Glasses did not help my vision or the headaches. I had terrible headaches and no vision for about five months. It was aweful!! Now because of what he did the only contact that gives me somewhat good vision is a specialize CONTAC LENS that costs over $900 and it lasts only two years. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from this doctor as you can. I know of more of his patients who have had the same thing happen to them where he has wrecked their vision, so I am not the only one!!

MN Eye Consultants and Dr. Reeves are highly thought of by my main health care network and happily referred me. Dr. Reeves has a quiet but confident bedside manner and always seems to care about me as a person, not just my health conditions. My vision is amazingly better after my surgeries.

Dr. Reeves seems overworked and rushed. Extremely inefficient Minnetonka office. They didn't seem to care that people were waiting hours for cataract surgery that literally takes less than five minutes. Minnesota Eye Consultants is one to stay away from.

I wanted to share my horrible experience with Minnesota Eye Consultants and Dr. Sherman Reeves so that other patients do not have to experience the same atrocious treatment and customer service that I did. Under Dr. Reeves’ care, the vision in one of my eyes was destroyed to the point where I can’t read the numbers on my speedometer in my car. When I shared my frustrations with Dr. Reeves, I was told he could no longer treat me and to go find another doctor. No one should go through what I went through. Please choose another doctor. There are many in the Twin Cities that actually know how to provide competent treatment and treat their patients with care and respect. Please email me at visionlostmn@yahoo.com and I'll share my complete experience with you.
