My husband and I saw Dr. Gocio for severe stenosis in my cervical spine. He spent the entire visit with his back to me writing and speaking in a monotone. I am hard of hearing and could not understand. When I asked if he could turn around and have a direct conversation with him he became furious. Both my husband and I were completely startled by his inappropriate and unprofessional behavior. I did not want him operating on me. I asked my PCP to contact the office to see if I could consult with another surgeon there and they are refusing to see me. This means I have to travel quite a bit out of Baxter County for my health care and this is absolutely absurd. I feel shunned, discriminated against and penalized for no reason. I did nothing wrong. This is a medically unsound decision. You are making a 68 year old woman with multiple medical conditions travel hours away for surgery because of Dr. Gocio's personality issues? Shame on you.

I waited for surgery until thought I could not take any more pain, but Dr Gocio proved me wrong!! I can live with more pain!!I He seemed knowledgeable and told me he could help me. Surgery and following month went well then things went south. He left me in more pain, can barely move and his idea was to titrate me off pain meds and refer me to a pain clinic after telling me "I have done all I could do, the rest is up to you". At that visit, he wouldn't answer ANY of my questions or even look me in the eye! Wish I had never stepped into his office.

I went to Dr. Gocio in ‘08 and totally messed up my spine by putting in the wrong size screws in L-5 and it disappeared up into L-4, my back was so bad I was dragging my left leg until Dr. McDonald fixed it in a 8 1/2 hour surgery. Wouldn’t let him operate on my dead dog!!

He is arrogant and impersonable. He does not explain procedures or injuries. He avoids eye contact seemingly rude. Avoid this doctor he is not focused.
