His nurse, Lauren, is the worst nurse ever. She is absolutely rude and I have told Dr. Holt several times. He needs to get rid of her. I see other patients have commented on her "bedside-manner" too. The rest of his staff are pretty nice, especially Tammy, Dorothy, the older gentleman who does the xrays, and Dr. Holt. If you are a patient and have had the same problem will you do everyone a favor and bring your experience of his nurse, Lauren to Dr. Holt's attention and his office nurse, Terry ( I believe). She needs to go. She is not worthy of working with patients with pain and surgery.

Dr Holt did my fusion on my low back in 1996. He did a remarkable job and the surgery has been successful. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Sawbones did a cervical fusion on me and im in worse shape than before the surgery. 6 months since and i still need ice packs. Pain is bad ,hand goes numb and still cant work. No meds no nothing just more suffering. Lauren his nurse is an absolute rude misery of a woman. God forbid you ever need a refill because she treats you like a drug addict for being in pain. Worst experience ever ! Plus he now wants to do a lumbar fusion. Im in the process of switching doctors .

Dr. Holt has done several surgeries for me. He doesn't jump at the chance to cut first. He makes every effort to try other alternatives before surgery. I never feel rushed when I have and appointment. He takes up all the time you need to feel like he has answered all your questions before you leave. I've never had a doctor call me personally and check up on me before.

Went to this man for simple vertebrate dislocations. Was told I had bone degeneration of vertebrates. Of course there was no degeneration . And because of dislocations and said degeneration surgery was my only option. First botched surgery was a cage from tailbone to vertebratesee. In witch case i was told that cage and screws are made of Titanium and strong. Screws broke in least than three weeks. On top of that got staff infection. Went to five appointments in one month nurse told me nothings wrong cleaned wound sight and dressed and sent me on my way. Went to a sixth appointment a few days later and saw Dr.Holt and his surgical assistant and I suddenly have a staff infection. Went in to get cage removed but wound up with bleeding from stomach due to medicatins. Took six months to figure this out. And of course had to have cage removed and since it could not be replaced Dr.Holt said he would have to go through my stomach and insert bone dowels between the vertebrae

Dr. Holt performed an emergency spine fusion on my 19 year old daughter after she was in a vehicle roll over accident on her way to Gulf Shores from Nashville to a family gathering. She fractured her T12 and exploded (lack of a better word) her L1. She was given a 100% chance of being paralyzed if she did not receive this surgery. Dr. Holt saved my daughter way of live by given her the 6 rack spine fusion. We are grateful that Dr. Holt was the surgeon. His bedside manor with not just my daughter but my family was exactly what we needed to get through this difficult time. His follow-up as well as his Nurse Stephanie as been remarkable. We have to drive all the way from Nashville to Alabama for her follow-up and they are so accommodating. I think he is amazing and wish we had more Doctors like him here in Nashville.

Jennifer is ok but the lady who does the scheduling was very hateful to me . Dr.Holt is a great doctor.

I had three lumbar surgeries and have never regretted them. If you do exactly what you are supposed to do, there will be no problem. I never had pain afterwards. I always have my questions written down and he answers them thoroughly. Also, I do my research. As far as the staff, I treat them as individuals and most are extremely busy; not to mention the patients they have to put up with. I do agree that Jennifer could be a little friendlier, but that is just her personality. I just overcome it.
