Everything you NEVER want in a Doctor. Day after hip replacement surgery I called because pain had gotten to be too much. I knew my dosage of meds could be altered but certainly didn’t want to do so without medical advice. He actually said “you could go to the ER”!!! In the middle of a pandemic and at risk of infection???? I finally called a pharmacy and was advised how to adjust pain meds and how to complement them with over the counter pain meds in between doses of my Rx.

Had a knee clean out two years ago because of osteoarthritis and a torn meniscus. He was very polite during the first consultation and after the surgery. When I did my follow up after my surgery and physical therapy he was not as attentive and seemed like he was in hurry to get me out of the office. When asking about the future of my knee replacement he seemed unconcerned. I just got a different feeling and response from him and left feeling like I had just got a rushed response.

Epic fail as far as bedside manner. And, be dismissed my injury and now I've found a doc who listened and is treating me. Never rated a doctor before but this guy was not worth the drive or the time.

Great experience. Had prior surgery on my shoulder elsewhere, but with a shoulder replacement specialist. Needed a shoulder arthroscopy specialist, and Dr. Dreese did a great job fixing my shoulder problem.

Great experience. I got several opinions on my knee injuries, but was most comfortable with Dr. Dreese. I needed special treatment for an atypical meniscus tear, and he was able to repair it rather than remove it. I am now back to full activity without restriction. I cannot thank him enough.

Great experience. Highly recommend. Surgically repaired my shoulder. Much better outcome than my other shoulder which had surgery elsewhere previously.

Dr. James Dreese first appeared very polite and knowledgeable. He ended up performing labrum surgery on my shoulder. The surgery went ok, but he spent very little time with me after the surgery. He also, did not respond to phone calls or email after the surgery. It appears that once he has received his payment he has very little interest in assisting you in any way. I ended up getting problems with my shoulder a few years after surgery and tried to contact him on SEVEN occasions. His secretary took messages for him to call me back, but I still have not heard from him. AVOID this doctor at all costs!!!

I am a young college lacrosse player who had a dislocating shoulder. Had a poor experience all around with Dr. Dreese and now i have to have another operation by a competent surgeon this time. He's cocky and can't back it up.
