Dr. Balk performed 2 seperate surgeries on my hand at his West Mifflin facility in the past two years. Both surgeries went well. He and his staff were very helpful in diagnosis and treatment. Great doctor!

Went to see Dr. Balk. He was very helpful and answered all my questions in a positive way. I went to him for carpel tunnel both hands and arthritis of the thumb. He gave me an injection and wrist splints and now feel pain free. This is what I call a good doctor, and he made me comfortable about my condition.

I went to see Dr. Balk about 2 weeks ago. I first met with his younger partner. I cannot remember his name. He asked helpful questions and got the diagnosis on target. Dr. Balk came rushing in and looked at a nerve study. He looked at me for a minute. He did not ask many helpful questions about my life and what I do with my hands/arms. He gave me a diagnosis that was opposite his partner. He gave me an steroid shot in my elbow and sent me on my way with an elbow pad that was a little better then a sock. According to his partner, I am supposed to keep my arm straight and possibly have surgery to correct the pinched nerve. In my opinion, I have two conditions. Dr. Balk ignored one . His manner made me feel that I could not ask questions and I was not taken seriously. I think he is in too much of a hurry. I would not want him working on my hand. He may screw it up. Just because you are a Dr. does not mean you are a good one.
