I saw doctor Reingold on June 23, 2023 for a diabetic eye exam. After a lengthy exam, he told me I needed immediate cataract surgery. This was news to me, as I had no symptoms. He then ushered me into a sales office, where a charismatic office worker explained that insurance would cover the procedure, but that if I wanted it done "correctly" (whatever that means), then I needed to pay an additional $4,500.00 over and above. (I had no deductible.) I hesitated. Then the doctor came back in and said I needed to schedule it urgently. I declined, and asked for my medical record of his diagnosis. He refused to give it to me. Subsequently, I went to another board certified ophthamologist for the same exam. I did not mention Doctor Reingold's diagnosis. This doctor said to come back in 6 months for a follow up on the diabetes. "What about my cataracts?" I asked. "You do not have cataracts," he said. A few weeks later, I had severe dry eyes and went to another eye doctor for an urgent visit. They prescribed drops after a thorough exam. I then told that doctor that another doctor said I needed urgent cataract surgery. The doctor shook his head and said "You have no sign of cataracts at all." It's clear that Doctor Reingold engages in price gouging and fraudulent diagnosis.

The Dr. did a cataract surgery on me and when I went in for the follow-up visit and said I wasn't seeing well, the Dr. said I was being too negative. I then went to two specialists who told me that my eye had been torn during the surgery and in addition, the wrong lens had been implanted.
