I went in for the consultation and he rushed me threw the whole thing didnt give me time to ask questions. He was rude! I dont care if hes the best or not, if hes going to rush during my con whats to say he isnt going to rush my surgery. He knew what he was doing and what he was talking about i could see that but i came in to ask questions get information not for him to sit me down and say heres what i do ok bye? Im going to see Dr. Cole next ive heard she is just as good but she is also open to questions and taking time to see what i want not just assume. After i see her i will post on her review as well, hopefully it goes great!

Excellent service all the way around. Dr. Manuel called that night following surgery to check on me. That was very helpful because I was able to ask him questions I was too groggy to think of in post-op.

One of the best surgeon and caring physician I have met. He knows what he is doing, is doing it well, follows up his patients until the healing process is completed. We in Alaska and Anchorage are very blessed to have Dr. Michael Manuel.

Not Happy at all!! I should have learned the first time when he did my eye lids and they didn't match. But, no I went ahead and went back for breast implant replacements. He left me with horrible scars and had one nipple considerably higher than the other. I'm now unable to wear evening gowns, swim suits or even most bras with out the nipple protruding. When I explained the problem he just shrugged his shoulders!!

Dr. Manuel did a breast aug and "limited" breast lift on me. The aug is fine, but the "limited" lift was a complete bomb. Not only did he not raise my areola (which he said he would do- so now they point down), but I have the same scars as a full breast lift-which I didn't want. In short, he does what he wants to do, and not what the patient asks him to do. I would not go back to Dr. Manuel for any reason.

I am writing this for the benefit of other parents of children with cleft palates. Dr. Manuel is currently the plastic surgeon for the State of Alaska's specialty clinic for children with Cleft Lip and Palate. Manuel examined my daughter at this clinic during 3 yearly visits. At the last visit he recommended a pharyngeal flap surgery. In my determination he was grossly uninformed on potential risks and side effects of this surgery. My daughter experienced frightening post-op complications to which Manuel shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know what to tell you." In our visits before the surgery Manuel told us that as far as discomfort, the surgery really wasn't a big deal. He likened it to having your tonsils removed, ie, terrible sore throat for about a week. He NEVER mentioned the possible complications we experienced. For adult cosmetic surgery he may be the best, but in my opinion this surgeon has no business being on the Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic Team for AK.

Excellent doc and office staff. This guy takes his business seriously and it shows. He also has a great personality. If you're going to have either elective or restorative plastic surgery, this is the doctor you should seek for treatment.
