Dr. Couch performed an in-patient procedure on my husband under un-sterile condition while in his Albany Office. He zoomed in (late) on his motorcycle & then, without proper sterile conditions, proceeded to operate on his foot to completely remove the large toe-nail... by himself with no other staff, as I sat by the door watching the whole thing play out. He dropped an item on the floor, then picked it up & went back to the open wound. Not finding a "tool" he needed, he left the surgical site, rummaged through a cabinet & returned without washing to finish operating & bandaging the big toe. This resulted in a MRSA infection that traveled up the leg, destroyed part of his femur bone, necessitating a total knee replacement. Though we tried to contact his office several times to obtain the records for this incident, NOT ONCE were phone calls returned, & mail sent to his office requesting the same records likewise went unanswered. Hardly a 5 star doctor... he cost my husband his knee!
