I use to go to Davidson Dental in Rawlins for several years. No I would not recommend it.

I have had insurance through 4 different plans now, and all of them paid for one set of 'preventive' xrays a year, and a cleaning every 6 months. That is the norm.

So when my dental hygienist tells me that I'm due for a set of xrays, I'm going to trust them that it has been a year....just like I trust them that they made my next cleaning appointment in 6 months instead of 5 months and 20 days.

Davidson will tell you EVERY time you go in there for your cleaning that you are due xrays. So if you ever forget that you had xrays the last time you were there, you will get a bill that your insurance won't pay. The office makes a few bucks off of xrays, and in return they tick off their patients. Not a good business practice.

I told my boyfriend that I just incurred a bill this way. He said it has happenned to him too. (his insurance also only pays for one set of xrays a year) He just tolerates it because they have after 5pm appointments. I don't need after 5pm appointments, so I'm switching dentists. Preferrably to one who doesn't pad their bills.

I grind my teeth at night and wear a mouth guard to prevent damage to my teeth. I have had to wear one for 15 years, and never has any insurance company covered this piece. I went to see this dentist, and he "guaranteed" me that my insurance would cover the mouth guard, and made impressions for one. I asked if they didn't cover it, how much it would cost, and he told me not to worry, it was covered. I received the guard and a $660 bill. When I said I didn't want it, he said the service was rendered and that I had to pay. I would never take my family back to this dentist, he is way over priced, and lies to get business. Previous mouth guards cost around $150 from other dentist. I take my family to another local dentist, and their charge was $113 for the same thing!!! Think twice before you go to Chris Davidson, they will scam you!
