I bought a pair of eye glasses and was told that the lenses were the "top of the technology." Cost me $869.00! I informed the optician that due to my macular degeneration, the transition from light to dark had to be "very dark," and she promised me that they would be. Shortly after I received the glasses I moved to Florida. The lenses did NOT get very dark at all and now the surface of the lenses are covered with fine scratches to the point when they look cloudy.Thomas Eye Center has refused to replace the lenses on both issues and wants to charge me $180.00 to replace them, claiming that the lenses are "scratch resistant," not "scratch proof." That being the case, then why did they cost so much? As to the darkness of the transition lenses, they said: "this is as dark as the lenses get."I feel I have been taken advantage of. If I had it to do over again, I would go somewhere else. Who needs the headache?
