Dr. Kavanagh is an exemplary surgeon/health care provider/ human being.
He replaced my left hip & it was nothing short of miraculous. Within 3 weeks I was driving & back at work.
He then SAVED MY LlIFE!
He "corrected" an old hip replacement a different doctor did in NYC.
The hip replacement was infected & had to be totally removed. I was on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks and then Dr. Kavanagh put in a new, total hip replacement.
Throughout my ordeal he was with me every step of the way. He is professional yet kind. One of the most caring doctors it has ever been my pleasure to know.

I encountered Dr. Brian Kavanagh through a highly regarded recommendation from a friend when I was grappling with a troublesome hip issue. I underwent hip replacement surgeries under his care, the first in January and the subsequent one in July of 2018.

Dr. Kavanagh's surgical skills were nothing less than outstanding, as evidenced by the seamless and successful hip replacements. During my hospital stay post-surgery, he made it a point to personally visit me daily to assess my condition. This level of attentiveness and care deeply reassured me during a crucial phase of my recovery.

Dr. Kavanagh is not just proficient in his field but also an incredibly personable and respectful individual. He has a unique ability to connect with his patients on a personal level, fostering an environment of trust and comfort.

Dr. Kavanagh deserves the highest praise for his contributions to the field of medicine, patient care and his warm and respectful demeanor.

If any physical therapist, anywhere, forced HIP DISTRACTION WITH A BELT on you, causing a partial dislocation , hip hypermobility and injuries, leading to more physical therapy or SURGERY, and you found that orthopedists were not doing anything to stop physical therapists from continuing to distract hips, even though there in no theoretical or clinical evidence in support of distraction, then PLEASE DESCRIBE HOW A PHYSICAL THERAPIST INJURED YOUR HIPS BY PULLING YOUR FEMURS OUT OF THE SOCKET, by commenting here.

Due to this doctors I was on a walker for over 8 months after a hip replacement. If nothing goes wrong, it’s probably OK but if something goes wrong, like in my case, he doesn’t own up to it, he doesn’t support you and he does not help in any way! . I’m still in Physical Therapy over a year and a half after my hip replacement . I am still trying to get my strength back from the mishandling of my case after more than 11/2 years. Wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

I had surgery on my right hip in the fall of 2019. I was only 48 years old and hoping to find relief from pain so I could continue being active/athletic. My physical therapist was surprised by how jagged and unsightly my scar was and how much higher my new leg was. Dr. Kavanagh dismissed all of my concerns on height discrepancy and accused me of not doing enough post op exercises. Absolutely dismissed my input. He put both of his hands on both of my hips and declared them even. I have uneven gait and pain when standing for long periods of time or for long walks and hikes. Forget about running. I don’t think I could run to save my life. I’m disappointed in my abilities post op and mostly disappointed to have my concerns so quickly dismissed. Dr. Kavanagh’s friendly pre-op demeanor was replaced by zero accountability annoyed post op surgeon hubris. Do your homework. There has to be better options than someone with such an arrogance about his work and refusal to respect patients’ input.

A REVIEW OF ONS SITES IS REVEALING. These "positive" reviews about joint replacement surgeries demonstrate a NEGATIVE aspect of orthopaedics and Dr. Kavanaugh: there is NOT ENOUGH EMPHASIS ON INJURY PREVENTION, JOINT PRESERVATION, AND A COLLABORATION BETWEEN ORTHOPAEDISTS AND PHYSICAL THERAPISTS IN REVIEWING AND APPROVING PHYSICAL THERAPY MODALITIES. For example, some physical therapists in Armonk use belts to pull the hip out of the socket while twisting it, tearing apart the hip joint, causing instability and injury to consequential joints. They do so without orthopaedists studying the injury potential of this anecdotal technique promoted by only a few physio therapists, who write their own studies without an interdisciplinary peer review to guarantee safety . SHAMEFUL LACK OF STUDY AMONG THERAPISTS AND ORTHOPAEDISTS. THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO BE AWARE TO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND TO REQUIRE THERAPISTS TO SIGN A LEGAL DOCUMENT RESTRICTING THEM TO ONLY SCIENCE AND EVIDENCE-BASED TECHNIQUES PROVEN TO NOT BE INJURIOUS.
