There was no place to leave a review years ago, so I'll share my experience now. Dr. Nowak could be a lot better than he is with several things. He needs to improve in some areas. One is bedside manner, another is listening to the patient, and another is admitting he's wrong when he's wrong. My husband and I went to him some years back for fertility treatments. I'd researched how the IUI procedure is to be done. He did our first IUI, and completely messed it up. Did not give the HCG shot before the procedure as it should be given but 15 minutes after it. When I got a second opinion on how it was supposed to be done, the doctor I saw agreed that it hadn't been done right.
Dr. Nowak was a great surgeon when he removed my fibroid.
His office staff were very cold and impersonal and the office always had a dark pall over it. I'm not the only patient to have had this experience.
After the botched IUI, which indicated to my husband and I that he and his staff did not have the proper experience to know how to do it properly, and after we spent $300 for the procedures that never had any chance of working for us since it wasn't done correctly, I left his office and went elsewhere. He never apologized for doing the IUI wrong. When I called his office to ask them to transfer my chart to the new office, his receptionist, with an attitude in her voice, told me that once my chart left their office I could never come back to them and be their patient ever again. She was very unprofessional and acted as if I'd done something to her personally. A few months later my primary care doctor showed me a letter that she'd received from Dr. Nowak where he blamed me for leaving and not giving him the chance to work with me further. Why would I? And what kind of attitude is that for him and his office staff to have toward patients?? I never disrespected him; I just moved on. Most doctors don't take things personal when you move on to another doctor. I wish things had gone differently.
