Dr. Cowart is abrasive, aggressive and degrading. He downplayed my questions and concerns regarding mine and my baby’s health. I had some symptoms that were concerning to me and Dr Cowart referred me out to a neurologist, ophthalmologist, and for a chest Xray/EKG without any further questions. When I questioned his reasoning behind some of his referrals, he gave minimal explanation for office visits/tests that would’ve cost me hundreds of dollars if not more. I went to see Dr. Cowart again after my initial urine tests came back as I had more concerns before scheduling all of the other appointments and he condescendingly asked me if the symptoms I was there to talk with him about “seemed normal to me”. Obviously they didn’t seem normal or I wouldn’t have made an appointment or asked about them in the first place. As our conversation progressed and I continued to express my concerns, Dr Cowart responded to everything I said with pointless and combative questions that provided no purpose or meaningful insight. When I told him that he was belittling me and I was in his office to receive answers and not to be asked rhetorical questions, he sarcastically said things like “I’m a physician and a surgeon but you seem to think you know more than me” and “well doctor… I’m sorry I can’t help you”. Dr. Cowart abused his position of power as a doctor to maliciously intimidate, taunt, and ridicule me because he didn’t appreciate the fact that I was questioning him and why he insisted on responding to everything I said with unnecessarily rude questions in a time when I was scared that something could be wrong with me and my unborn child.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews but this review is warranted as I have never been treated with such disrespect. I blindly scheduled an appointment with Dr. Cowart without reading any reviews. After taking the time to look at other patient reviews I am appalled at how many people had a similar experience.

I would NEVER recommend this man to anyone I know… especially if they are navigating the scary, exhausting, complicated experience of growing a child.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cowarts for 25 years. He is kind, professional and such a wonderful physician. He has always been caring, respectful and takes a genuine interest in my well being. I would give him a 10 out of 10 stars!

I have been going to Dr.cowart for a couple years now and we had a great relationship. He tried helping me to the best of his ability but nothing was changing. So I took matters into my own hands and started doing research online and reading what other women were saying about the same issues I was having. I came back to one of my visits and I asked his opinion of a article I read online that suggested a specific pill to take. He was very disrespectful and rude to me because I asked him a simple question. I have never in my life felt so disrespected by a doctor before. When I left the office all I could do was cry and called another doctors office. They got me in right away and have been helping me and also told me that same day I transferred over 2 more people from his office did as well that same day I did. So any ladies that have PCOS I suggest going to the fertility clinic in Rockwall off Ralph Hall. Dr. Pinto has helped me so much already and actually sat down and described to me what I have and why I got it and how to get rid of it and when I told him about the pill I read about online he told me he has many patients on it and he would let me try it after we ran some blood work and did an ultrasound.

Dr. Cowart is a great doctor however he and his wife are very judgmental people. If you choose to have Dr. Cowart as your doctor, be very wise and careful in what personal information you provide to them. He was my doctor for over five years and I ended up getting burned by him. I was in an emotionally, physically, and verbally abusive relationship. As a result, I had a lot of anger and depression. Dr. Cowart never noticed the symptoms of abuse and judged me for these symptoms. When I switched to a different ObGyn, this doctor could immediately tell that I was being emotionally abused and helped me out of this relationship. Dr. Cowart sided with my abuser. Again, he is an excellent doctor, just don't talk to him about personal issues.

I've been seeing dr. cowart for years and i love him and his wife, they're both such sweet and wonderful people. the office staff is very friendly. dr. cowart really knows what he's doing and saved my life and the life of my son when i was very sick during pregnancy. i strongly recommend him and i will never go to another obgyn.
