Biography

Getting to Know: Dr. Celestino Vega Dr. Celestino Vega has been practicing Family Medicine since 1995. Dr. Vega serves Lakeland Regional Health as Family Medicine Physician in our Auburndale primary care location, seeing patients ages 2 years and older. What is your patient care philosophy? I believe prevention is the key to good health. We want to be proactive and not wait till there’s a problem. I aim to be compassionate and very caring with my patients. Why did you decide to become a physician? I love the science of medicine, and I love to help people. What do you enjoy most about working with patients? I love getting to know my patients and their families. I often treat multiple generations of a family, and that is special to me. How does your work improve lives? I hope I affect people in a positive way. What are some interesting facts about you? Both of my kids, who grew up in Polk County, are pursuing medical careers right now.
