This man is rude. I moved to Houston and needed a dermatologist since I had a history of multiple BCCs (basal cell carcinoma) requiring MOHs surgery. I brought some records to show that I had such a history. He rudely rejected them. I should have walked out then. But, I also had a lesion on my nose which he looked at and dismissed despite me telling him that it had been there for months. He did not examine me. Six months later I came back (go figure) for a follow-up. I pointed out the still present lesion on my nose. He actually said "That was there before. Do you have anything else?" I said No but maybe he would see something when he examined me. He said he wasn't planning on examining me but did I want him to. I said no, gathered my things and walked out. Two weeks later another dermatologist examined me. She biopsied the nose lesion and another on my back
A week or so later I had MOHs surgery on my nose and a skin graft. Also they removed the BCC on my back and another small one on my nose . I know he is rude but think he's incompetent too.

I'll give you this, Dr. Ellington is Judgmental. He is quick to see when parents are slacking in taking care of their children and will treat you with justified contempt. But if you're doing the best you can, he quickly becomes accommodating and sympathetic. This is because out of all the doctors I've met he sympathizes and feels the most for his patients, and he can't stand by for patients who don't take care of themselves, or parents who truly don't care. For the parents who left bad reviews there's a good chance that he simply found them slacking when it came to taking care of their own children. Many times parents will forget the prescriptions of their child, their child's diagnosis, and even their child's medical history yet they say they care that their child is sick. He is quite knowledgeable and accurate, cheap, and will give you great advice for your continued health and life. He was once a surgeon so he knows his stuff and for any other reason I would say try him out.

I took my 8 year old daughter in to see him January 18, 2011. He was very RUDE and did not even acknowledge my daughter what so ever. All he did was talk down to me and trash my daughter's DR. I held out her thumb for him to look at he barely even looked at it. I was so upset with the treatment that he showed us, I feel like he thought we were lower than dirt and we were wasting his time by being there. What upset me the most was his altitude towards my daughter who was scared enough as it was. In all my years I have NEVER been treated this badly by a Dr. It was very disappointing and my 8 year old daughter wanted to know why the man would not even look at her or ask her what was bothering her. I have no idea how he treats his adult patients.
