I met with Dr. Vemuri for my 4th or 5th visit yesterday and waited an hour past my appointment time. She took the 10AM appointment before my 9:15AM. She didn't know my name or even remember what she herself prescribed for me. I expressed that I want to ween myself off of Sertraline, where she suggested I begin taking Prozac. I am tired of dealing with withdrawal symptoms and Dr. Vemuri told me that Prozac has NO withdrawal symptoms. I picked up my new prescription, found that my directions say "TAKE ONE CAPSULE BY MOUTH FOR 1 WEEK THEN, TAKE 20 THERE AFTER". Thankfully, I know better than to overdose and that she meant to start taking 20mgs. I went home and researched Prozac and I found tons of information on withdrawal and NOTHING saying that it wouldn't make me withdraw. I feel uncared for, miniscule, and cheated from being given a good doctor for such a serious illness.
